Last year, we gringos knew all about the Slalom Worlds because those stoke-fueled Downhillbillies were hosting and promoting the races right here in North America. The tales of racing, local hospitality and the courses were epic. This year, we’re forced to admit the Worlds almost slipped by us at the ‘Fish, but they’re this weekend and promise a weekend of ripping speed and head-to-heads between the best skaters in the world… Skateboard Slalom World Championships Gothenburg, Sweden, August 1-3, 2008 This year, the racing will be in Slottsskogen park, part of the City of Gothenburg. Hosted by the Gothenburg Slalom Skaters, it’s three days of racing followed by parties with live music, fresh food and stoked Swedes. The racing will pit Euro skate stars like Henrik Wadsten, Ramón Königshausen, Dominik Kowalski, Martin Drayton, Maurus Strobel & Luca Giammarco against Steve Olson, Richy Carrasco, Zak Maytum, Claude Regnier, George Pappas, Kenny Mollica and more. The Euro women rip at slalom, and they’re going to meet the deadly duo: Lynn Kramer & Cat Young! Race On!
