[This coverage of the Antrim Racing was sent to us by Fadell read on to hear about the community, the racing and how PPS rules and Richy Slayed 100 cones] ANTRIM CAN-AM 2008 I could go on and on about how rad the skateboarding was in Antrim, but it really would miss the larger picture of this particular race weekend. In fact, what stands out most was all the hard work and effort by all the locals and others that made the race and weekend even possible. Brian Beihl and Joe I deserve the most credit. Their extraordinary efforts made the race not only possible, but also made it a complete integration of Antrim, NH’s community fabric. Besides the race they provided: Free housing for the weekend, food each day, a slot in the Harvest Parade, and tickets to the Harvest Festival fireworks.
All this catering to the racers provided fertile ground for intense skateboarding and the setting of a new world record. It also allowed for some memorable times to take place on and off the hill. In the weekds before the race, both Mitchell and I were questioning whether or not to go to Antrim. Luckily we made the right decision to show up, and once we got there we knew it was “THE” place to be.
As far as the racing…….. All you you need to now is that PPS Ruled the weekend, Richy is the King of 100 cones, the Canadians are fast, and when Mini-Mig won his FatBoy deck he lit up more people than the fireworks! Big thanks to all who made this race possible, HELL |
