Captain Africa and Guapo:

Pushing the Limits

Active Image

Bruthadood
is a force that is pushing the limits of longboarding. The dynamic duo is made up of Stephan "Capt. Africa" Reinhardt and Scotty "Guapo" Raynor. The two 18 year olds are from Colorado. They ride a unique genre of skating that is made up of sliding, old school, board walking and more. That's not what's unique -- thousands of 'fishheads do the same thing  -- it's that they're currently enduring in a test of will and strength by skating a 3,000 mile journey across the United States!

Videos have been released of the skaters shredding but even raw footage cannot express the creativity that the Bro-doods possess. These young thrashers represent Flexdex and Kahuna Creations. Stephan and Scott recently released their own boards with their main sponsor, Flexdex Skateboards. The board is called the Bruthadood 38.  It was named after the team and built to express their riding style!  Click through to check out the Bruthadoods and get some of what they're servin' up!
The Bruthadoods are the two only survivors of a legion that was assembled in 1804 by Freemasons in order to fight off the previously existing infestation of chupacabra. Psyche! The Bruthadoods met each other on the first day of attending Rampart High School and have been surfing pavement together ever since. The name was created because Stephan is an African "Brutha" and Scott is a Caucasian "Dood". Stephan and Scott built a huge community of longboarders in Colorado Springs. They had such an effect on the skate community that mall skate shops had to carry more than just main stream board brands. There isn't a spot in town that the Bruthadoods have not shredded. Stephan and Scott's style was influenced by Adam Colton, Sergio Yuppie, Dan Gesmer, Jack Smith and The Silver Surfer (The comic book character!). After developing their own style on their boards they decided to skate across America. The boarders soon picked up Flexdex and Kahuna as sponsors.

The Bruthadoods have already kicked over 1,000 miles across America. They have mobbed through rough roads, mountains, deserts, and beating rain.Team Bro-dood has a hit list of 11 states that they must push through in order to make their coast to coast excursion. Scott and Stephan conquered Oregon, Idaho, Utah, Colorado, and Kansas. They still intend to mash the souls of their shoes on the streets of Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, West Virginia, and Finish the epic adventure on the Atlantic beaches of Virginia.

STEPHAN REINHARDT

Stephan Reinhardt has been longboarding for 5 years. He moved to Colorado Springs from West Africa when he was 6 years old. From afro to dreads to buzz cut Stephan's skating changes as frequently as his hair. He stands a whopping 6 feet 5 inches and his favorite boards are his Flexdex Bruthadood 38 and Pro-40. Stephan is 18 years old and plans on skating for the rest of his life. The young kid is always down to teach and learn new things with other longboarders. He used to have an unhealthy obsession with Spider-Man. Reinhardt was introduced to longboarding by his older brother. He got his first longboard in 8th grade. Stephan wants to win a Nobel Prize someday. He is always down for a root beer float. His favorite cartoons are Street Sharks, Captain Planet, Biker Mice from Mars, and Voltron. Stephan strongly believes that downhill skating should be in the X-Games. Stephan's favorite genre of skating is the downhill slide. Reinhardt's riding is a kaliedoscopic whirlwind of creavity at its purest state.

SCOTT RAYNOR

Active Image

Scott Raynor has been skating for over 4 years. Longboarding is not the only board sport Scott loves, he is also a snowboarder and a wake boarder. He obviously shows a natural talent for boarding. Scott is not afraid to push his board to the far ends of the earth just to find his limits. Raynor is ready to try new things everyday. This kid knows how to rip the concrete. Scott started boarding around his freshman year in high school. He got a used sector 9 from some buddies that were all gettin into boardin all around the same time. He will thrash the streets everyday no matter what condition, even in the rain Raynor is down for some wet sliding action.. His favorite movies consist of Lords of Dogtown, all the Back to the Future installations, and Grandma's Boy. Checking out the ladies, maxin' and relaxin', kicking it at the pool is what a day in the life of Scott is made of. His favorite genre of boarding is old skool riding. Scott loves to get twisted with his style by intertwining a double helix of creativity, style, and buttery smoothness to make a blend worth tasting.
