The restless crew in Brasil seems to never sleep at all, and their next event will mix two of the street-born kinds of skateboarding. The Taça Parque da Juventude de Skate will take place next Saturday in São Paulo and has all it takes to become another "all ages & types" event.

After all, there will be two different competitions on the spot. First, the fastest slalom riders in Brazil will battle on a dual tight course just to make sure who's the fastest rider down here as riders Kako Max and Tiago Gardenal are on a head-to-head struggle to see who'll finish first on the Brazilian rankings.
Besides the usual zigzag around cones, street skaters will also have a good reason to spend the day in the park as well. The Hosoi Ollie Challenge will be "more than just a kind of high jump contest", according to the mysterious words from one of the organizers. To make sure what this really means, there's only one way - to be there. All I know is that winners will be awarded with Hosoi Skates products, as Wave Boys is the brand's local rep in Brasil.

Besides the usual large product prize awards (and some cash) on the contests organized by this crew, the event will expose the beautiful Parque da Juventude to the skateboard world. The location was built after the Casa de Detenção do Carandiru presidium was torn down, as a consequence of a massacre that killed 111 inmates some 15 years ago. Nowadays the park attractions include a small Mata Atlântica forest, running tracks, multi-sport courts and a skateboard area which includes a small street park and a banks, not to mention a pavillion in which communitary courses, shows and local events are organized.

The Taça Parque da Juventude de Skate will be sponsored by Liga de Esportes, Prefeitura da Cidade de São Paulo, Juventude SP and Governo do Estado de São Paulo, and supported by Red Bull, Wave Boys, Pocket Pistols, Gatorade, Pepsi, Alva, Thrasher, DogTown, Black Flys, TRIBO, Diorandi.com, 40 Polegadas, Possessed, Red Beach, Krial and Venice mag.
