On August 5th & 6th, the CCMF crew put on another great skateboard weekend. Our 1st race was a grass-roots
Slalom Race with 4 different divisions, hand made trophies, prizes, and giveaways. All the kids and
families that came out had an awesome time! It was just good sk8ing FUN!

That afternoon we did some sliding on the best hill in our area, Tasa Jara Road. There was some unreal talent
charging down the hill that day. Brandon was sliding like a madman, Kai was doing his famous head slides,
Lance and Jay were turning some heads with their long tie-side slides and I saw Josh Kocher pull a toeside/shuv-it slide that had everyone stoked!

After that, it was time for the Evening Glass-Off Downhill at the O'Conner Way hill, located just up from the "Ranch". Eleven racers showed-up, including the legendary Jack Smith, Bill Boothby and the surfing brother of Jay LaPalm, Bryn LaPalm, who hadn't done this in over 20 years! There were some great 3-man heats down the mile-long road! The last heat was an incredible 4 man, mad dash to the finish. It was just a bunch of core guys doing some REAL skateboarding all
for the pure glory of it!! Oh yeah... and the trophies!

The party that night at the Ranch was mellow. Several skaters, including John O'Shei, Brandon Headland and me ripped up the old ramp. Our skating was highlighted again by Nor Cal's Josh Kocher, who was destroying everything in
site... Did he just do a hand plant on that little triangle thingy?! He sure DID... Man that kid can skate!

All-in-all, a great weekend of skating, except for that incident you may have heard about regarding a vehicle vs. skateboarder. [Editor’s Note:  Brandon Barker was attacked by a motorist in a road-rage incident that resulted in a hard bail, near death and the arrest of the attacker by the San Luis Obispo Sheriff’s Department. More on that, elsewhere.] But all is well and everyone will live to skate again. (And we hope that guy in the truck gets hanged high!  Western Justice was that long ago, here in San Luis Obispo, and we’ve got a saloon roof beam in Pozo waitin’ for this dude!)

This, of course, won't be the last event put on by the CCMF crew. Keep your eyes open! We post our events in
all the usual places and, might I suggest: if ever you get the chance, get your a$$ to the Central Coast.  The CCMF crew will show you an awesome time of skateboarding you won't soon forget!
