The second annual freeride at Giant’s Head Park in Summerland BC is CONFIRMED. The weekend event will take place on the weekend of August 15th and 16th, 2009. Riders will need to register at www.ridethegiant.ca to secure their spot. If riders pay before June 1, 2009 they will receive $20.00 off their registration fee. There will only be 120 spots available for registration – get yours before they are gone!

The course has 13 expert level hairpin corners and 700 vertical feet of drop, which sends riders through 2.1 km of intense riding. The course is unlike any other major event in North America and has caught the attention of the global racing community.

The intent of the weekend is to push riders abilities far beyond their current skill set. On Saturday Aug. 15 riders will be sent to ravage each of the three sections of the course based on their current riding ability. The second day will have the riders facing each other in a head to head ladder style race.

The race will be hosting an estimated 120 riders and will attract at around 1000 spectators. The community of Summerland has opened their city to us and embraced this event with their expressed support. We hope to draw upon the excitement surrounding the event and expand awareness to the surrounding Thompson Okanogan region.

The Ride the Giant Freeride promises to be the most intense weekend of riding with participants having the privilege of riding this very special mountain.
