An epic for charity event that always pleases ,this contest is more than a lineup and a few runs. This is a straight up festival, and if you have any way of attending you need to make sure you do. DRAGON SKATE RACEMay 17th University of California, Irvine 
On May 17th, the third annual Dragon Skate Race will be hosted on the UC Irvine campus. The Dragon Skate Race is Orange County's largest downhill skateboarding event and attracts over 800 competitors and spectators through the course of the day! From 10AM to 5PM, guests can look on as over a hundred riders make their way down the hill; some of which will choose to end their ride in gnarly fashion onto a crash-pad of hay bales. Come out and enjoy great food catered by local favorite Chronic Tacos and live music from bands including the Hellers, Hate Club and Left of Christ among others. A professional slalom demo from Sk8 Kings' very own Richie Carrasco and Lynn Kramer will be among other highlights throughout the day. Professional skaters will be in attendance. Sponsor booths will be located at the bottom of the hill so look for raffles, games and giveaways from our sponsors and their teams. Sponsors include Hurley, Sector Nine, Gravity, Active, Split, Landyachtz, Loaded, Daddies Board Shop, Muir Surf and Skate, Unlimitedfix, Arbor, Carve, Riviera, Concrete Wave, and, of course, Silverfish Longboarding.
Skaters not from the UC Irvine campus will be eligible to race in the Open Men's and Women's categories. The registration fee is $10 and the first 60 to register at the Board Gallery in Newport Beach will receive a 20% discount off everything in the store.

And the best part of it all: All proceeds from the event benefit the Prosthetics Outreach Foundation (www.pofsea.org), an organization that provides prosthetic limbs to land-mine victims in Southeast Asia.
