Over the past year, Silverfish Longboarding has been covering, promoting and participating in the events produced by the CCMF and Outlaw Ranch. This Halloween season, the Outlaw Ranch was at it again, putting on a two -day festival including slalom, downhill, park slalom and sliding.

With the harvest moon high in the sky, the road to the Outlaw Ranch unfolds as it always does. The Babylonian metropolis falls away and the rolling hills undulate in front of the headlights of the Jeep. In all honesty my job here at “the ‘fish” as I would understand it is to experience, participate and document the myriad facets of skate culture.

I humbly feel I have done just that with the past coverage of the Outlaw Ranch events. This time around I chose to be selfish.  Leaving behind the notepad and voice recorder, I immersed myself in the stoke-drenched activity that the ranch perpetrates and armed myself with only a camera. Following is a pictorial of the events, a snatch in time of images we would like to share with you.

Yea well the DH didn't work too well. I managed to get 3 runs in. It was still quite idyllic. On my final walk back up, the cop was parked, waiting. "I can wait" I pop'd the top and sipped my brew,
watched the pale tangerine haze alight the rolling hills before me. She rolled on. Confidently, I took a final run smiling all the while.

I want to take a moment to thank the people that make the CCMF and the Outlaw Ranch what it is.

Jonny Miller for being an inspiration to know and to have ridden with.  He is a loving father and a respectful man. No matter what trials he encounters, Jonny is always honest, helpful and willing to do what he can for anyone. He puts a great deal of time into the planning of these events, really gives of his heart and it shows. Jay LaPalm for all the logistical support he gives the CCMF, always smiling and ever ready to skate a solid bro any day of the week. Eric for all the stoke he brings the local scene, between the kind advice he gives and the always upbeat mentality he brings to every event, he's good people to be around. Bill Boothby, even though he beat me at O'Conner, I still have to say that he is the man behind the timer which is what makes many of the Arbor sessions what they are. The guy is a wealth of knowledge and an asset to all that know him. Lance Folley, he is so stoked on what we do it is almost comical at times; whether we deserve it or not he is very supportive. I could never pay due respect to that he does for us by word and in kind. Every time I see him he is nothing less than stoked. He supports the rides of so many people an has earned my lifelong respect. John O'Shei and Dave Hackett not so much for me but for others, as serious as they are in the most core of the sense they treat riders with respect and an aggressive humor that infects others to the point that it instills the stoke for skating they have expirienced in their lives. I also have to give respect to all the riders who have taken the drive with me over the sessions I have covered at the
Outlaw Ranch, their company has not only made the trip possible and more enjoyable but also kept me sane in the car.

Much respect to the Outlaw Ranch and the CCMF, Next time you are in San Luis Obispo, drop by The Trading Post run by Jonny Miller the only downhill racing shop in the Central Coast.
