Howdi Silverfish. Over here in the UK we have started something called SkateFurther, an organisation/website designed to promote long distance skateboarding in all its forms; from massive trans-national adventures to 10 mile trips with a few friends or weekend solo cruises. Our first event as SkateFurther is this one, The SkateFurther/Lush Longboards Board Build-Off.

Check out us out at www.skatefurther.com . We are constantly updating the site with gear reviews, future events, event reports, advice, video’s, pictures and just general Long Distance info.

It is great to see people building their own boards as that is how the sport progresses. All you have to do is look at the board building sections of forums like Silverfish and Lush Longboards to see how people are creating the boards that they want to ride.

The theme for the Build-Off is…Long Distance. What do you think makes a board suitable to go a long way?? This is your chance to show us.

Rules

1. You can use whatever materials you want.

2. No limit on the number of entries.

3. Finished board must be ready to ride, set up and fully gripped (however you choose)

4. To submit officially you must post pictures and description of your board in the submissions thread ( I’lll set one up towards the end of the comp). There must be at least 3 photo’s per entry, (including a photo of the board under construction)

5. Winner will be decided by the skatefurther and lush teams.

6. Entries must be posted in the Official Thread to count.

Prizes…

1st Place:
A set of Lush Stealth Bombers, Bearings, Spacers, A Skatefurther T-Shirt and stickers

2nd Place: A set of Stealth Bombers, Skatefurther T-Shirt and stickers

3rd Place :
Bearings, Skatefurther T-Shirt and stickers

Best of luck to everyone, you have nearly six weeks to build your boards, so take your time and show us what you can do!

If you are in need of inspiration take a look at www.skatefurther.com or www.pavedwave.org . Check out the forums on both those sites and the Lush Long Distance forum for some ideas.
