Timeship Racing's 2006 Maryhill Race DVD
Enter the world of downhill skateboard racing on the most challenging road ever raced! In 2006 ,TimeShip Racing hosted the "North American Speed Board Championships" at the Maryhill Loops, along the Columbia River Gorge in eastern WA. This amazing course has speeds near 50 mph, 22 turns in 2.2 miles, many of them are banked and hairpin and seem made for racing. This unique road is preserved as the first paved road in the Pacific Northwest. The well placed overlooks make it possible to see nearly the entire race which is highly unusual and makes for very exciting viewing on our new DVD of the event.
Speed Boarding, as it is known to racers, has been quietly growing world wide. This race was a chance for 75 of the best racers from the US and Canada to battle it out in 4 man heats for the title of Champion. Filmed by racers, there is plenty of exciting head to head racing, drafting, crazy crashes, unique insights and a surprise ending. Downhill skateboard racing has been around since the 1970’s, but it didn’t look anything like this! This is the most complete race film ever made exploring this elite form of skateboarding that has no major sponsors, shoe contracts or real prize money. It was shot on location June 24th and 25th 2006 and edited at Capital Video in Santa Fe, NM where TimeShip Racing is based. Directed and Produced by Joe Lehm. TRT is 40 minutes.
