Registration Information

For 2008, Event Registration is $250.00, US Dollars for the first class entered.  Additional classes are $50 and then each additional class is $20.

The 2008 Festival Of Speed:

·          5 days of racing against the world’s best Gravity Athletes in the 2008 IGSA World Championships.

·          $5000 purse (cash) for Downhill Skateboarding – Sponsored by Abec 11

·          $500 (cash) plus a complete skateboard for the “Fastest Qualifiers” in Downhill Skateboarding, Women’s Downhill and Junior Downhill - Sponsored by Never Summer

·          $2000 purse (cash) for Streetluge – Sponsored by McDonalds

·          $500 purse (cash) plus loads of bearings – Sponsored by Bones Bearings

·          Trophies for all podium athletes

·          8 – 12 runs per day down the Maryhill Loops Road during practice.

·          Free Athlete Camping w/showers @ Klickitat County Fairgrounds (Campground Sign Up will start July 1^st, 2008)

o   RV’s and Trailers with hook ups will be a charge of $16 a day or Free without any hook ups.

·          Free breakfast each morning at the Athlete Campground

·          Free water each day – Sponsored by Mountain Fresh H2o

·          2 nights of Music (Klickitat County Fairgrounds)

·          Awards Ceremonies (Klickitat County Fairgrounds)

We’re excited to report an overwhelming interest from athletes wanting to register for the Maryhill “Festival of Speed” 2008 IGSA World Championships and we’re taking steps to ensure we’re able to repeat the levels of service to racers we had at last year’s event.   We have limited the number of event entries to 200 athletes, across 7 different classes. This will ensure the athletes will receive the most possible amount of on-course practice time to prepare for the IGSA World Championships race.

It’s also important that we guarantee the top-ranked IGSA athletes an opportunity to race in the IGSA World Championships, so we’re going to use a “priority registration” system in 2008.  With this system, we will reserve “priority registration” for a designated number of athletes in each racing class, based on 2008 IGSA point standings and/or Top Finisher standing from the 2007 Maryhill “Festival of Speed”.  During the priority registration period, only these athletes may register and the total number of registrations “reserved” is roughly 100.  After Priority Registration expires, every unsold registration will be available to anyone, on a first-come, first-served basis.  Full details are below:

The Maryhill “Festival of Speed” will not include ¾ Fairing Gravity Bike and Inline Board in this year’s event.

Priority Athlete Registration (athletes are listed on the IGSA Top Priority Athlete List, below)

This registration is for athletes that have competed in an IGSA sanctioned event and are ranked in the top of their respective class.

Priority Registration opens on May 23^rd, 2008 at 8:00 am PST.  Top Priority registration closes on May 30^th, 2008 at 8:00 am PST. If you are on the Top Priority registration list (below) and you do not register before the closing date you will lose your priority status, but may register during Open Registration (see below). Being on the Top Priority List does not guarantee you a spot in the event, just a reserved spot if you register early.   Full Payment is due at time of registration.  If you are not on the list below then please do not register until Open Registration.

Open Registration

Open Registration opens on June 2^nd, 2008 at 8:00am after Top Priority Registration closes. Open Registration will remain open until all classes are filled. The number of Open Registrations will be determined by how many of the Top Priority Registrations were filled and will be first-come, first-served.  Full payment is due at time of registration. 

Reserve List

When all Open Registrations have been filled, then a Reserve List will be completed on a first-come, first-served basis. If an athlete that registered needs to pull out of the event for any reason, then the 1^st person on the reserve list will be able to register for the event upon immediate payment of registration fees. Registrations can’t be transferred or sold other than through the Reserve List.  Email reserve list requests to info@maryhillfestivalofspeed.com

No Registrations will be allowed at the event. All registrations must be paid in full at the time of registration. When arriving at the event, you will be required to check in at Athlete Registration and fill out Event Waivers and go through Technical Inspection for your equipment and safety gear.  IGSA Rules and Regulations will be in effect. Racing and Bracket Information

Registered Athletes must qualify to be able to compete in the World Championships racing. The Racing Brackets shown above determine how many athletes qualify for the racing portion of the event. For example: All 120 racers in the Open Downhill Skateboarding must qualify in the top  96 positions to compete in the World Championships on Sunday.

Women’s DH and Junior DH Skateboarding will be allowed to race in the Open Downhill Skateboarding Class as long as they qualify in the top 96. In addition, Women (Top 16) and Junior’s (Top 16) will race in their own separate classes!

Refunds: 

If you need to cancel your registration for any reason, a refund will be given minus a $50 handling charge. This request must be given in writing to info@maryhillfestivalofspeed.com by July 27, 2008.  After July 27^th, refunds will be available only if the registration is filled from the Reserve List.  This isn’t likely to be a problem, but it is our policy.
