The sixth and final race of the 2006 IGSA California Downhill Series will be held on Saturday, December 2 on the Via Verde course at Frank G. Bonelli Regional Park in San Dimas, California.  If you missed IGSA's North American Championship racing, just two weeks ago, this is your chance to see many of the same competitors in every class of racing return to the traditional Via Verde course for the last runs of this season.  Note that, although this race was originally set for the Raging Waters course, the racers' vote at the NorAm was overwhelmingly in favor of the faster Via Verde course, so it's been switched.

The Via Verde Course starts on a moderate incline, progressively dropping around sweeping right, left and right corners. The road straightens up for a straightaway and a final charge to the finish line. Once past the finish there is a long uphill run out. The racecourse is approximately 1km (.6mi) in length, not including the run out, and may be modified to add a chicane (based on racer input).  Although there were several "haybale massacres" at the NorAm's, the racers were stoked by the challenges of the hard right corner at the base of the course.  That road isn't in IGSA's permit this time, but there are options to modify the course that will be discussed before practice, Saturday morning.

The 2006 California DH Series has been comprised of six events. Each competitor’s best five finishes will count toward their final season points standing. Series Championship trophies will be awarded following the final event of the season. The IGSA is an international sanctioning body for gravity racing sports, athletes and events, featuring a 7-race World Cup Championship Series for 2006.  Press coverage for these events is provided by Silverfish Longboarding, local television and print media and IGSA's videographer team.
