March 21, 2006.

The IGSA regrets to announce that the 2006 Almabtrieb World Championship event has been cancelled. We have received information from the road department that a resurfacing project of the entire road will not be completed by June 31st as had originally been scheduled. The road work will not be finished until late July forcing the cancellation of the event.

With the cancellation of the Almabtrieb event, the IGSA World Championships will move to the COASH event in Scheid, Switzerland and held July 17-22. The six day event will be contested on a very technical course that is ideal for the World Championships. Organizers Clemens Bartlome and Samy Canteini have been hard at work on this event for many months. It promises to be the highlight of the 2006 season.
