BMW Streetcarver Issues PDF Print E-mail

\"\"Maybe this isn\'t even a big enough problem to warrant an entire article, but when you pay $500 for a skateboard (we didn\'t, we won ours, but some people did) you expect everything to go perfect... \"\"Recently, while riding the StreetCarver we noticed some clicking noises, as if we were riding over pebbles or cracks in the sidewalk, only there were no cracks or pebbles.

When we got the board, there was some indication that the bolt was not as tight as it should have been, but since there is no visible way to tighten it, and when after riding it for a couple months it didn\'t appear to get any looser we stopped worrying about it. (See inital review for photos)

Turns out that one of the bolts on the StreetCarver is almost all the way out, and as far as we can tell, there is no way to get it back in.

The problem is that the bolt is covered by a plastic cover that is stuck on (for lack of a better description). Meanwhile, the bolt is stripping each time the wheel moves up or down. We\'ve stopped riding it for now because of that.

\"\"The manual offers no insights as to repairing the StreetCarver--they recommend taking it to a BMW dealership, so we\'ll have to take their advice and hope that the dealership can fix it. We\'ll keep you updated on the status of the repairs.

The photos here are of a working StreetCarver, the arrows point to the plastic cap that we\'re wary of removing and to the area where the bolt has come undone.

If you haven\'t read the review of the StreetCarver, do so--it\'s a great board to ride--we\'re being optimistic and hoping that this is just a freak accident.
