We received this great invitation from Komakino, our buddy in Bordeaux that’s President of the local longboard organization. They’ve got a hot scene, a great group of skaters and are well worth your time to check out! Here’s Koma’s note: Bordeaux Longskate club is a crew of skaters mainly practicing downhill though it was co created by former slalom champion, Dieter Fleischer. It was created in April 2002, aiming at gathering all longskate riders in Bordeaux, a French town famous for wine & cheese. The BLC has about 20 riders, and has been running a website since the beginning with an active forum. During this winter, Odix and I decided to give a new direction to the website and make more updates. As we have both participated to the IGSA competition through Europe, we know most of the best riders. So, we decided to make interviews of the best French and European riders and publish them on our website every Wednesday. Odix is our “reporter” and gives it a kick! We already have something like 8 interviews including World Champion Martin Siegriest and Jibo Debure, French Champion. Many others are to come: girls, luge riders and Erik “the crazy Swede” Lindberg…
We write articles, as the ‘fish does, about the downhill scene on a regular basis of 2 articles per week. The website is in French, but we put the “Systran tool” that allows people to translate pages in English or German. The translation is not very accurate but it’s enough to understand the meaning of the sentences, I reckon. Of course we have videos and pics section, an RSS feed system, calendar of the events updated, team riders presentation, and of course the ‘interview section”. Finally, the BLC will organize once again this year the HAUTACAM DOWNHILL, French Championship and IGSA World Cup Series. So, if you wanna know what’s goin’on, on the other side of the Atlantic, come to www.bordeaux-longskate-club.com and check it out! My name is Koma, and I'll help you with anything you need on our site!
