 HONOLULU, HAWAII October 26, 2005 – Kahuna Creations co-sponsored surf legend Rabbit Kekai’s 3rd annual 2005 SurfLife Grom Fest held at the historic Waikiki Beach on October 22-23. Longboard company, Kahuna Creations gave special tribute to Rabbit Kekai, one of the original Beach Boys surfer legends that pioneered modern surfing. Rabbit was presented a classic hand-made 4’6” Kahuna Longboard skateboard signed by all of the young “keiki” (children) surfers wishing him a Happy Birthday for his up coming 85th birthday.
 The event features keiki 12 years and under, ripping up the Queens Break waves at Waikiki Beach. The 85-year old surf legend, Rabbit Kekai preaches to “always give back and teach the keiki about the ocean and to share and pass that knowledge to the next generation”. Rabbit has said in the past, "The water is so good…It keeps me young while my friends are so old. I tell them to get in the water. It calms you -- no stress -- and brings you back to earth." Hawaii Senator and 1968 World Surfing Champion Fred Hemmings attended the event and award ceremony to support Rabbit and the young local surfers. Thanks to Rabbit Kekai Foundation founder/waterman Matthew Murasko, funds were raised for local Hawaiian schools and children with medical challenges.
