Here's the inside line on what's coming in terms of refinement and development of the Abec11 family of wheels, straight from the Mad Scientist, himself... We call it, "The Striker is Dead, Long Live the FreeRide!"
 Hey Guys,
Here’s the deal. We are making some changes over the next several weeks to make things SIMPLE. There are some minor exceptions to “the rule”, but basically we want RETRO to be associated with REFLEX Formula wheels and ABEC 11 to be associated with green CLASSIC Formula wheels. This means that Classic Formula FreeRide wheels will be under the ABEC 11 brand from this day forward.
We will continue the 3 REFLEX Formula FreeRides in the RETRO brand (Lime, Lemon, and Orange), but there won’t be any of those clear-cored Classics in the translucent red, amber, or green colors. In addition to having the 72mm Classic FreeRides in the ABEC 11 lineup, we will rename the 66mm and 77mm Strikers to become 66mm and 77mm FreeRides. They will come in 78a, 81a, and 84a only. All 75a and 88a Strikers will be discontinued. STRIKERS ARE OUT, FREERIDES ARE IN!
What does this mean? In the Abec 11 lineup we’ll have 3 sizes with 3 durometers each for a total of 9 Classic FreeRides under ABEC 11. Small, medium, large (66mm, 72mm, 77mm) and soft, medium, and hard (78a, 81a, 84a). All will be green wheels with orange cores and Classic 'thane. In the Retro and Pink lines, our Powerballs and Reflex FreeRides will continue to use black cores.
I've included some mock-up pictures to help give you a visual on the future. As they say on the 'Fish, Go Skate!
