Description
This is a new deck, I have made it with the intent of a cruiser with a great big turning radius. It looks like a gin shaker that I use, so there is the tag. The deck is made in 3/4" and 1/2" and 10.5" wide. 1/2" for the lighter rider. This board is 44" long and you will love it.

Tonic for the Soul, Friday, 02 February 2007

First off, this may not be the longest board (at 46"), but the 37.5" wheelbase is going to make you think you're on a tanker. This is not a bad thing. This board can handle rough transitions, metal grates, and ditch trash quite well. With a set of 88mm wheels and 1/4" of spacers, it bombes Indian School in an old time Hawaiin way. Carved in and out, hung the lip, rolled out through the weeds and rocks, only to roll right back in again. The 3/4" thickness of my deck is a bit to firm for my 140 pounds, but it still flowed with my feet. The 1/2" model would have been even faster, and would have flexed the peaks to rocket me back to the trough. If you want stable, strong, and sexy, go Gin & Tonic.

The Firnspiegel Guy has a reputation of ripping people off. Beware this board company. Search the Silverfish forums and you'll see what's up.

Been riding the board for a little over a week now. The deck's flex is perfect...it's like a shock absorber, and you feel so close with the road. Been carving around some hills and though this board design is better for a more advanced rider, it is still completely rideable for an amateur like me. I'm completely satisfied and believe it was money well spent. Totally awesome deck.

Nothing to compare to..., Friday, 02 February 2007

For my very first board I decided to go with a Gin and Tonic...I mean just look at the pic, who wouldn't want to ride something that sexy down the street? Anyway, I custom ordered with my own graphics and custom stain. I received this morning, and all I can say is WOW. Rick is the most awesome guy to do business with, he really makes sure you are satisfied with his services. Awesome. The finish on the board is like glass, amazing. Just terrific craftsmanship. I've ordered my Randal 180's and will take it for a spin once they get here at the end of the week. I can't think of a single negative thing about this company. Later. Quinn
