This is one of the most unique boards i have ever ridden. Loaded with camber and flex, it makes it ridiculously fun to pump and carve hard. Defiantly not a downhill board but once comfortable it is stable at speeds around 35mph. If you have some extra dough lying around or ever find yourself in France i would defiantly recommend picking one up.
Longboard Review
How long have you ridden the board: Over a year
What is your setup like?: R-II 180's with 70mm 78a(i think) grippins and khiro blue bushing barrel bottoms, 78a reflex formula stim tops.
Typical Session Discipline: Pumping, Cruising, Garage
How much did you pay?: Forget, but not cheap
Where did you purchase it?: Paris, France
What were the strengths of the deck.: Camber, Flex, Multiple Wheelbase options, high quality craftsmanship, manuverability(sp.).
What were the weaknesses?: Camber(if you dont like it), Cost
Similar decks you have ridden?: If you have ridden any of the s9 cosmic decks, this is the only thing i can think to compare it to. It rides like those but only much more sexy.
Would you recommend it?: Yes

Aluflex, located in the French Alps, is a ski manufacturer. Aluflex is the official provider for the Winter Fench Army Division. Theire know-how consists in a particular sandwich composed by one wood deck in the middle and two aluminium slices on each side. 4 or 5 years ago they decided to apply this technology to longskate...pure hapiness when riding.
If you want one you have to hurry because the Gordini production is apparently limited...each board is hand signed !
You can send me a mail if you want me try to find one here in France.
Longboard Review
How long have you ridden the board: About 1 year
What is your setup like?: - Randal II 150- Gravity 66 mm Street G'S
Typical Session Discipline: Street Carving
How much did you pay?: 300 $
Where did you purchase it?: Riderz in Paris
What were the strengths of the deck.: Pure flex and strong camber...it's like a rolling-spring...a mountain separates your feet...Nervous reactions...you can choose between 4 position for the back truck : from straight to "loose" style...Last but not least the design is terrific : the name "R8 Gordini" is in memory of a famous french rally car from the 60ies built by Renault.
What were the weaknesses?: ...sometimes over-reacting which can compromise stability...
Similar decks you have ridden?: The closer deck I tried is a Pumpkin.
Would you recommend it?: Yes

i have a quiver, so each board has to have a specific discipline. but this just didnt fit into anything. it was too big/flexy for gs, it was too skinny for long distance pumping, its massice (one inch) camber made it a pain to push long distances.
Longboard Review
How long have you ridden the board: year and a half
What is your setup like?: it went from 149 trackers, to original s6s, to s6 front tracker rear, 130 seismics, 150 randals... and whatever slalom wheels i had sitting around.
Typical Session Discipline: pumping, hard carving
What were the strengths of the deck.: its construction was top notch. also, the combination of wood and alu made the flex super progressive and responsive.
What were the weaknesses?: it really had a none specific shape and flex to really excel at any one discipline.
Would you recommend it?: No
