Longboard Review
How long have you ridden the board: about a year
What is your setup like?: randal 180
Typical Session Discipline: cruising
What were the strengths of the deck.: rock solid (no flex). since it is concave, the grip feels better and you don't have to look down to know where the egde of the board it.
What were the weaknesses?: no wheel wells so prone to wheel bite, i fixed the by adding risers. i suggest risers before the wheel bite happens, wheel bite is no fun and messes up the paint job.
also the board is heavy.

Would you recommend it?: Yes

I decided to check into longboarding as a new hobby to get into that looked like a lot of fun and would help keep me active outside. After convincing my best friend to get a board too, we headed out to pick up new toys. I'll admit that what drew me to Arbor boards was the all wood look and the surf style motifs. I chose the Blunt over the Pin mostly to have a more familiar style board to the dinky little version that I had back in 4th grade.
Though it's been about 13 years since I've had a board, it didn't take long at all to feel comfortable riding on the Blunt. Before long our first day resulted in us riding from 2:30pm to just after 10pm with a few stops for drinks and food.
It felt solid, handled gravel and cracks nicely. The concave shape kept me in place and the tail was nice to have for turning on the spot as well as lifting the front for those little hops that you might have to make.
All in all it is a very comfortable ride and the size makes me think of it like the Chrysler 300 of Arbor boards. It's also very user friendly as my friend's wife who'd never had any experience riding on a skateboard learned the basics quite easily on it and had some fun.
I'm sure that if I was a hardware connoisseur other trucks, and whatnots might be something to look into but for what I've been doing with it I've got no complains. I did notice a huge improvement when I bought some Khiro bushings.
This board is a beauty to look at (which sucks when the deck gets dirty from my shoes) and gives me my cruising and my moderate downward incline fix. My only regret was for not buying a longboard sooner.
Longboard Review
How long have you ridden the board: Just under a month.
What is your setup like?: Everything's stock 'cept for for the red Khiro bushings.
Typical Session Discipline: Just cruising around the city, university campus and the odd bolt down a leveled parking lot.
How much did you pay?: $250 Cdn
Where did you purchase it?: FS Skate
What were the strengths of the deck.: The big hefty deck gives me a lot of space to play around with footing. Very little flex (unless you like flex then I guess it could be a weakness). Large size makes it feel very solid and the concave deck sucks your feet into place.
What were the weaknesses?: While I'm no pro when it comes to parts, once I swapped out the bushings, the thought of the stock ones just flet really blah to me. Light coloured bamboo top shows dirt really easily. Some people might find it a little bulky when they have to pick it up and carry it for whatever reason.
Would you recommend it?: Yes
