Michael Stefaun's new Pro Deck from Pool Kings is bringing the bling!  Look at that thing!  Click it to visit the site.

Stefaun's roots are in street skating. Therefore, it's only natural that his pool shape closely resembles the traditional, double-end, twin tip shape that so many street decks incorporate. Michael's Pool King deck is constructed using polymer composites and 5 plys of hard rock maple veneers. Pool Kings claim these are 8 ounces lighter than standard 7 ply wood decks of the same size and shape and retain their "pop" for a longer time as well.

Carver trucks are a great addition for anyone who likes to be aggresive and do hard carves and cutbacks as a part of his/her daily cruise. The board is compact, a good fit with carvers. If you cant seem to be able to pump, get some carvers, even a banana could pump with carvers.
Longboard Review
How long have you ridden the board: since december 2005
What is your setup like?: The stock setup was the Carver CX truck front and a standard style truck back with 65mm Carver wheels Included 1/2 risers. I have changed wheels for 70mm kryptos and bushings in different combinations including bones soft for the front, khiros work well tho. Added more riser so Its close to an inch now.
Typical Session Discipline: Pumping around the neigbor hood sliding out the back and doing cutback on banks and stuff
How much did you pay?: 200 dollars
Where did you purchase it?: In Hawaii, a Skateshop in Honolulu so you should be able to find it cheaper
What were the strengths of the deck.: The deck is very nice by itself, it is rounded and comfy with a slight kicktail so its not such a technical deck, a little more "cruisery" than a all out carving deck. The trucks are amazing and work very well with the deck shape and style. The Carver trucks are solid and dont need much maintenance, they are a very smart design for super pumpable trucks. Include good kingpins already. The feel is great and the stock setup is very nice, I enjoy the quick turn of the trucks for playing around, pumping then carving while cruising around.I have sanded the finish off and refinished with varnish and the deck has held up well to lots of mistreatment to the elements.
What were the weaknesses?: The Carver trucks chew bushings real quick so have spares. Khiros, independents and Bones bushings are good replacement.
Similar decks you have ridden?: not very similar decks but my ramp deck with loose indies feels a little similar but the shorter wheelbase (15") is the only thing that allows it to turn as tight as the carver
Would you recommend it?: Yes
