The Grenade23 is the newest development in the 2007 line-up. A high end, top performance mini-cruiser that packs a massive payload. This board was designed to attack the urban jungle and thats exactly what it does. The Grenade23 is small enough to fit in a backpack, quick enough to bomb through crowded crosswalks and explosive enough to shred alleys, sidewalks and corporate courtyards effortlessly.

The Grenade23 is the smallest board in the current Flexdex spread, however this young blood rides like a board twice its size. With a massive wheel base of 17.5" to its 23" frame, the Grenade23 is extremely stable and able to carry 40 times its own body weight. Duked out with 8" High Response Unit Trucks, 1/2" Vibra Soft risers, 61mm x 78a Urethane Center-Core-cast Flexdex wheels with a stone-grind finished contact patch and ABEC5 racing bearings, the Grenade23 like a hummingbird on steroids.

I was playing with the idea of a combination GROM and CAMPUS board last year. Students need a board that rides well, but fits in their locker or under the lecture hall chair. Groms need a flexdex that's their size. Both need a price that fits the budget without settling for crappy hardware and wheels. Behold - the Grenade! Only 23" long, but it rides like the old Classic 29. It's fast and fun. I keep one at the warehouse door to skate back to production and check on the worker bees...

Its called the Grenade 23 because its always ready to explode. Explode it does: the mini board stance places the skater's feet over the trucks, generating a high level of grip in all situations. With this over-truck stance, the Grenade's highly flexible design becomes more than capable of carrying larger riders.

The board holds the concrete with surgical precision, allowing highly accurate pumping and on-a-dime carving. The explosive nature of this propulsion is felt as the skateboard accelerates with every gyration.

The deck itself allows for enough room for a drop knee and compressed stance, yet keeps a chokehold on the street below -- drifting only when truly desired by rider. Slashing out on banks or laying scalpel clean laybacks, the little Grenade remains underfoot.

The unassuming size of the deck makes it a premiere choice for busy day sidewalk surfing and cutting lines in tight alleys and park paths. The Grenade 23 is the epitome of an all-around campus and errand cruiser. An easy-to-stash deck, that travels with you and needs little more than a locker or a backpack to lie in wait, whispering nothing more than its genuine desire to return underfoot and explode, yet again, in the urban tundra.

All around an amazing mini board! It's convenient, and gets you the ladies.
Longboard Review
How long have you ridden the board: Almost a year
What is your setup like?: Tracker mid-track trucks & tunnel rocks wheels. It's a BEAUTIFUL set up on a mini board such as this one.
Typical Session Discipline: Getting around the city
How much did you pay?: probably around 140ish for the whole set up
Where did you purchase it?: flexdex.com / daddiesboardshop
What were the strengths of the deck.: It's so convenient. - It fits in a backpack! It looks real sexy too.

Also, If you put some fancy light up trucks on it, the whole deck glows.

What were the weaknesses?: You have to clean it a lot if you want to maintain that crystal clear look. Also, it's a bit on the heavy side for how small it is.
Similar decks you have ridden?: It's similar to most short boards, but with more flex, and more style.
Would you recommend it?: Yes

its more style than performance obviously, but still, its capable of carving. its more of a campus cruiser, at least that's what i'm going to be using it for.
Longboard Review
How long have you ridden the board: 2 weeks
What is your setup like?: just bought the deck.
but other than that, i took my sector nine mini parts and screwed them on. alpine gullwing trucks, etc.

Typical Session Discipline: cruising, carving
How much did you pay?: 60 plus shipping and handling
Where did you purchase it?: flexdex.com
What were the strengths of the deck.: small, portable, sexy, complete attention magnet! =)
clear deck = totally unique.
STRONG. i lost my balance one time and the deck crashed onto the curb. tiny scratch, tough deck.

What were the weaknesses?: i've only skated a few times with it because we're going through a storm. however, because its clear, you can see all the dirt being collected underneath the board. flat deck, no concaveness, no kicktail. =(
hard to balance and kickturn at first, takes getting used to.

Similar decks you have ridden?: none. one of a kind.
Would you recommend it?: Yes

i suggest having this if you have a longboard that you can bomb hills with, but is too heavy or inconvenient to carry around/manouever in urban areas.
it's loads of fun.
Longboard Review
How long have you ridden the board: 3 months
What is your setup like?: bought as a comlpete from flexdex
Typical Session Discipline: sidewalk, some skateparks, around town for this one.
How much did you pay?: $160
Where did you purchase it?: flexdex.com
What were the strengths of the deck.: super portable, wicked flex, a head-turner, feels more stable than it looks, responsive carves
What were the weaknesses?: with the stance over the trucks, your feet can bite the wheel if you carve too hard. (i broke my mp3 player doing this)
Similar decks you have ridden?: a banana board that i rode for 2 years before i got this. the grenade is better.
Would you recommend it?: Yes
