Chinook is an unreal high speed or cruising board. It feels a lot lower than you think 1.5 inches would feel, but it felt super comfortable and natural... Get big wheels at least 75mm in my opinion. Having soft responsive bushings makes this board great for shredding town and having fun, then swap harder barrels in, or tighten/flip hangers for downhill bombing. Lime Big Zigs are not a sliding wheel, but this board makes it happen..
Longboard Review
How long have you ridden the board: 2 months
What is your setup like?: Dope Blacked out Chinook full grip, Black Bear 852's double barrel med soft, Bones Swiss, Lime Big Zigs...
Typical Session Discipline: Bombing Trestles, structure, beach cruising, hills....
How much did you pay?: $117.95 plus 15% off
Where did you purchase it?: SCS Socalskateshop Unrivaled inventory
What were the strengths of the deck.: Everything about this board is great. It's not a flex deck, but more of a solid platform that can clear huge wheels and shred or bomb hills at will. The drop makes it feel way low, and had me bailing off thinking it was going to contact the pavement on one of my first deep carves. I still had an inch or more, but it just felt low which is good. Pushing around feels effortless, as though you're only an inch off the ground. Looks bitchin, gripped tip to tail unlike some I've seen.
What were the weaknesses?: Only one and that's weight, but what're you gonna do? Rather feel secure and stable when hitting those high speeds than have a mini trampoline under my feet...
Similar decks you have ridden?: Loaded and S9 which can't and shouldn't be compared to a Nook...
Would you recommend it?: Yes

It's a great board. It's cheaper than the Evo and performs similarily. Unless you're going for ABSOLUTE DH, you don't need the Evo and the Chinook will turn sharper.
Longboard Review
How long have you ridden the board: 1 year
What is your setup like?: Bear 1050's stock red khiro with Lemon(83a) Bigzigs
Typical Session Discipline: DH/Slide
How much did you pay?: like... $120CAD on sale
Where did you purchase it?: www.pipelinesurf.ca
What were the strengths of the deck.: It's a landyachtz so it's super beefy and stable. Good concave. Easy to push around from the 1.5" drop.
Great for downhill. Tucking on it IS easier. There's no doubt.

What were the weaknesses?: it's a little of everything so naturally it isn't the best at anything. Well... maybe drifting. It really likes to step out on corners even with my 83A Bigzigz
Not as DH as a Evo
Not as pushy as a spud
Basically the same as a comishin but with Chinook has 1" drop in the back, Comishin has 2"

Similar decks you have ridden?: Evos, Pugs, Ian Comishin
Would you recommend it?: Yes
