Quantcast

Newsflash

Pocket Pistol's B. "Chicken" Deck is all over the import industry's use of heat-transfer graphics to boards.  Sure, he's a silk-screen traditionalist (and one of the best), but there's more to this than just gripin':  heat breaks down epoxy and the boards get hot!

I would definitely recommend this board, for someone who is looking for a board that can do EVERYTHING!!!

It can bomb amazingly well, carve and cruise well, and is the perfect freeride/slide board. It has an awesome graphic, and paired with the right trucks and wheels can be used for anything.
if i could only take one board, it would be this one.
Longboard Review
How long have you ridden the board: around 5-6 months
What is your setup like?: Drop Speed 09' Deck
Bear Grizzly 852's
86a Durians
Bones Super Swiss
Red and Yellow (90a, 85a) Venom Barrels

Typical Session Discipline: Freeride, Light Downhill, Carparks
How much did you pay?: $250 AUD for the deck
Where did you purchase it?: hopkin.com.au
What were the strengths of the deck.: Beast. can take any abuse you throw at it.
Pretty damn stable, up to around 85kph.
Light, perfect concave locks you in for slides and carving.
Perfec freeride board. still light enough to cruise on, and agile enough to carve on, yet perfect for taking it down massive hills and technical runs.
the drop thru mounting makes it very easy to footbreak and push.

What were the weaknesses?: nothing really. could be a little bit lighter.

very tall people or people with big tucks might find the deck too small. could be a few inches longer.

Similar decks you have ridden?: rayne hellcat, glyde drop thru, any other drop thru board.
Would you recommend it?: Yes

Longboard Review
How long have you ridden the board: 4-6 months
What is your setup like?: currently bear 852's and Otang Inheats 80a with the pumpkin (boardside) and khiro 92a (roadside).
I'm switching to Kahalani's in a few weeks though

Typical Session Discipline: DH/Freeride
How much did you pay?: gift
Where did you purchase it?: muirskate
What were the strengths of the deck.: stable and easy board to learn. I can also shov-it with this board.
What were the weaknesses?: I usually do my slides with my dervish, so I found it a little difficult to slide because of the concave. But that's just me and you just need to adjust.
Similar decks you have ridden?: Rayne Hellcat

Very fun to ride, can turn a small hill into a freeride thrash session. You can easily take it up to 40mph and beyond with no trouble at all. Concave it the best I have ever felt.
Longboard Review
How long have you ridden the board: 4 months
What is your setup like?: Randal R2s 180 hangar 50*/42* plates, Orangatang Stimulus 70mm 86a/Abec 11 Flywheels 76mm 78a, Reds, venom barrels 85a roadside 90a boardside (I'm about 155lbs)
Typical Session Discipline: Downhill, Freeride
How much did you pay?: 135 for the deck
Where did you purchase it?: Landyachtz site
What were the strengths of the deck.: Unbelievably stable because of the drop thru mounting, nice and low which makes it easy to push, big wheel cutouts, symmetrical, concave is aggressive but the slight W keeps it from being uncomfortable. Perfect board
What were the weaknesses?: Drop thru mounting makes the ride a little rougher than a top mount
Similar decks you have ridden?: Sector 9 Kommi

This board inspires so much confidence. It?s easy to kick, not a burden to carry around the city, ridiculously stable, carves well, holds momentum like dry ice and begs to tame the most spastic hills.

If you are the kind of person who commutes for 3k?s or more, does not want to kick for ages on flats, likes the taste of some speed, is not too concerned with dancing and wants a serious toy, this is the holy grail.
Longboard Review
How long have you ridden the board: 1 day
What is your setup like?: Deck: Landyachtz Drop Speed
Trucks: Randal RII 180
Bearings: Moduc Abec 7
Wheels: ABec 11 78a Gumballs

Typical Session Discipline: Commuting, Downhill, Carving
How much did you pay?: $650 AU
Where did you purchase it?: Extreme Skates, Brisbane
What were the strengths of the deck.: This board is so stable, predictable and just begs to go fast! It?s also a great commuter as it holds momentum unbelievably well and is not heavy to kick.
What were the weaknesses?: Wide Turning Radius, cant manual as the nose it too short.
Similar decks you have ridden?: Z-Flex, Dervish, Whale C0ck Hybrid.
Would you recommend it?: Yes
