As my first longboard, I was taking a risk getting this board because it is so dedicated to DH. Turns out that my gamble paid off. This thing rips on the hills and is great to get around on too. I ride it to and from school and have no problems at all. Being so low, it rides super stable and rails every turn. It is a little hard to slide on but that has never been my strong point anyways. I highly recommend this board for anything.

I was really amazed with this board. The speed is awesome, and it carves suprisingly well. I have the 852's nice and loose, and it still cranks in the turns. I also like the firm feeling of the deck at speed......it induces a feeling of security. An awesome skate...I highly recommend it.
Longboard Review
How long have you ridden the board: 1 Day
What is your setup like?: 09 Evo, 852's w/black pumpkins, Monster Hawgs 80a with abec 7's.
Typical Session Discipline: Freeride with moderate downhill.
How much did you pay?: 250
Where did you purchase it?: Skate Werks in River Edge, NJ
What were the strengths of the deck.: Oh lord this deck is SOLID and HEAVY, but that is a GOOD thing! This rig hauls ass! Super stiff, and the stability is rail like. I'm a noob to downhill, and I already feel more secure/stable on this deck. The deck is built like a tank, and should provide years of good service.
What were the weaknesses?: I've only ridden this board for a few hours, but I really haven't found any weaknesses to speak of. It's weird, but I truely feel comfortable on this board.
Similar decks you have ridden?: I also have a Comet VooDoo, but I'd take the Evo anyday.
Would you recommend it?: Yes

People say the Evo is hard to push around, not true, since it is lowered so much, it evens out the pushing difficulty.
Longboard Review
How long have you ridden the board: about 4 months maybe longer
What is your setup like?: 40* bear Grizzlies and Retro Bigzigz
Typical Session Discipline: DH
How much did you pay?: $240
Where did you purchase it?: stokedskateboards.com
What were the strengths of the deck.: Stable as BALLS. Wobbles are litterally impossible on this board.

The board iteslf is also very stong, it's a tank.

What were the weaknesses?: if there is any weakness, I'd say turning, it is good at turning, really good at making quick turns to dodge a branch or something, but it does slide out a bit. I wedged out the back for some extra turning. I also plan to put a 50* Bear plate in back.
Similar decks you have ridden?: none yet.

All I can say is that I rode the Chinook and bombed some 35mph curving hills and felt on the edge. I took the same hills on the EVO and felt like a dream... Get one and you'll not have to search for another board for a very long time.
Longboard Review
How long have you ridden the board: 3 months
What is your setup like?: Bear 852's flipped for downhill, unflipped for shredding town. Reflex lime bushings up top when I'm not bombing hills, stock black pumpkin/barrel combo for stability when I am. Lime RETRO Big Zigs on REDS. Sometimes I only flip the rear truck, and keep the front high for the best of both worlds..
Typical Session Discipline: DH, Cruising/carving, sliding to lose speed, freeway overpasses
How much did you pay?: $50 with Bear 852's and biltin bearings. Can't beat that.
Where did you purchase it?: Craigslist
What were the strengths of the deck.: Coming off a Chinook, the EVO felt more secure based on the lower, flatter riding surface. Although it is a little skinnier than the Nook, the deep concave really keeps the feet in place making it feel dialed as far as control and stability goes. The concave and low deck height make this board feel super stable and responsive. It carves amazing too with the right bushings, I prefer a soft outer barrel or tall cone for this.
What were the weaknesses?: Graphics are ok, but I would prefer some kind ladies of human or plant form to dream about. That, or a sick Maryhill Photo printed on the bottom.
Similar decks you have ridden?: LANDYACHTZ Chinook.
Would you recommend it?: Yes
