Michael Stefaun's new Pro Deck from Pool Kings is bringing the bling!  Look at that thing!  Click it to visit the site.

Stefaun's roots are in street skating. Therefore, it's only natural that his pool shape closely resembles the traditional, double-end, twin tip shape that so many street decks incorporate. Michael's Pool King deck is constructed using polymer composites and 5 plys of hard rock maple veneers. Pool Kings claim these are 8 ounces lighter than standard 7 ply wood decks of the same size and shape and retain their "pop" for a longer time as well.

Deck Materials: Epoxy and Tri-axle fiberglass sandwich a Vertical Laminated Bamboo

With a lower center of gravity and a torsionally stiff design, the Dervishes are built to hold an edge and maximize energy return.

A drop-thru carver designed to work with most reverse kingpin geometry trucks and 70mm+ wheels. Has a small nose and tail for manual and shovit tricks.

Drop-thru designed to accomodate the Randall R-II, Paris, Holey, Bear, Gullwing Charger and Tracker Fastrack Trucks. They all work well on this board, but we recommend using at least a 180mm wide truck.

The Dervish is available in two flexes:

Flex 1: 170 lb / 77 Kg - 230 lbs / 104 Kg
Flex 2: 100 lb / 45 Kg - 180 lbs / 82 Kg

Keep in mind that a softer flex pattern will give you more control and tighter turns at a wide range of speeds, but tend to lose stability slightly at higher speeds. Stiffer flex means more energy potential and more stability at higher speeds, but will not be as forgiving and lively when cruising.

The board is designed for a centered, snowboard style stance. As you get comfortable at higher speeds learn to slide. It’s the safest way to slow down at high speeds and will increase your skills. Otherwise, feel free to ride the board however you please.

This is the best board ive ever ridden. I've had:
Flexdex pro 40
Loaded pintail
gravity hypercarve

This is the best one, aside from the mounting thing breaking, but that was taken care of with the updated dervish. GET THIS BOARD
Longboard Review
How long have you ridden the board: About 5 months
What is your setup like?: Up until it broke:
Gullwing Chargers 10"
Bones Swiss Bearings
Lemon Big Zigs 83a

Typical Session Discipline: Carving, Cruising, Dancing
How much did you pay?: 285..?
Where did you purchase it?: Daddies Board Shop
What were the strengths of the deck.: Super fun board, room for dancing, short enough for sliding, nice and wide for me (size 13 shoe), very good for pushing, low center of gravity, nice little nose and tail for shuvits and manuals and bigspins : )
What were the weaknesses?: There is only one, the dropthru design was not very durable, however this was supposedly fixed in the new model.
Similar decks you have ridden?: Nothing like it.
Would you recommend it?: Yes

If you ride a sector9 this may not look like your idea of a longboard but if you ever have the chance to try a loaded board you'll realize they are worth every penny of the price difference and more. This is deffinitely an upgrade from generic longboards. I was lost but now I found Loaded. I was blind, but now I see how much better they are.
Longboard Review
How long have you ridden the board: 1 month 5 days
What is your setup like?: Flex 2
lemon BigZigs (75mm 83a)
2 stock yellow randal barrel bushing(top)
2 yellow DohDohs (bottom)
Randal II 180mm trucks
some sorta bearings...

Typical Session Discipline: Downhill-speed _or_ Flat ground- slides, dancing tricks, cruising
How much did you pay?: $326 after shipping
Where did you purchase it?: Extreme Outdoor Supply
What were the strengths of the deck.: Symmetry-great for slides and spins because it provides a very consistent foot placement.
Lower center of gravity relative to the wheels, thanks to the dropthru trucks, it eisier to initiate slides while standing.
This lower profile also adds to stability at higher speeds
Nose and tail are small but way bigger than the Loaded Vanguard, and are both functional with a little adjustment to your style.
Flex is superior to other boards with as much flex, which is very few. Pumping almost comes naturally and you will soon forget how to push...
Not worrying about wheel bite is always nice.

What were the weaknesses?: I miss having a kick tail.
If you get to heavy for your selected flex the board can hit the ground. But if the customer chooses the right one it's no problem.
Finally, grip tape wears fast.

Similar decks you have ridden?: The loaded vanguard is very similar. They differ in that the vanguard does not offer dropthru mounting which reduces stability at high speeds and makes slides a little more likely to buck the rider. The super low dervish offers more control in slides while the vanguard is more intuitive if the rider cannot slide yet.
Conclusion: Dervish is going to offer more to a more advanced rider while the vanguard has a higher learning curve for new riders.

Longboard Review
How long have you ridden the board: 2 months
What is your setup like?: Flex 1 (I weight in at 160), Chargers, Lime Big Zigs.
Typical Session Discipline: Carving, Cruising
How much did you pay?: $230
Where did you purchase it?: Mile High Skate
What were the strengths of the deck.: It rides awesome, it feels so lively beneath your feet. The drop-thru makes it awesome for pushing and adds stability to it. I love the graphic on the bottom, at first I didn't care for it but after seeing it in person I love it.
What were the weaknesses?: I haven't found one yet

First Longboard I've ever owned & don't think I'll be buying another anytime soon, other than for some techinical sliding.
Longboard Review
How long have you ridden the board: 2 Months
What is your setup like?: Flex 2
Gullwing Chargers 10"/Stock Bushings
Strikers 77mm 84A
Assorted Bearings/Stock Spacers & Washers

Typical Session Discipline: Cruising, Downhill, Sliding/Drifting, Commuting
How much did you pay?: $310
Where did you purchase it?: LoadedBoards.com
What were the strengths of the deck.: The drop through for the trucks really takes the edge off the learning curves & couple with the amazing chargers & 70mm+ wheels makes this board an incredibly smooth ride, even over cracked up roads.
Also, being able to ride the board in either direction due to it symmetrical design is a major plus when it come to wearing out wheels evenly & switching sans board after slides etc.

What were the weaknesses?: As with any board the exposed ends can be subject to cracking if hitting curbs at high speed (already lost a tiny chunk of fibreglass on mine)
Spray on grip wears off after time, but this does allow you to get creative with grip tape :)

Similar decks you have ridden?: Loaded Vanguard
Would you recommend it?: Yes
