Loaded Hammerhead 37 Adjustable Flex. Ready to bomb some steeps and roll some parking garages with no bite? The Hammerhead has no fear! Ultra fluid surf style carving with no resistance. Comparable to the Fish shape deck you can initiate tight turns through the front DCS system and maintain stability/drive through the rear. This board will be SURE to get you noticed.

Special Feature: Tail is built with 2 truck placement options so the flex can be changed by moving the truck forward (stiffer) or backward (flexier). Changing truck placement and therefore wheelbase affects the turning radius of the board.

Special Note on Wheels The Urban Assaults are fast and grippy. Their aerated cores allow for consistent high speeds without melting while their softness increases their speed and grip. if u love carving and plan on going to one hill and ridding down it several times this board is awsome if ur going out with a bunch a ppl on regular boards and u plan on moving from hill to hill alot dont get it youll be at the back of the group the whole time requiers alot of pushing

What is your setup like?: stock front wheels and bearings, pairs 180 trucks in back, stock bearings orangotang inheats orange

What were the strengths of the deck.: good flex, turns like a dream, u can ride it from the tail for a surf like fealing, carves amazingly on hill
What were the weaknesses?: SLOW, very slow on flats if ur carving. dont use the board for transportation, looses momentum more than a normal board in turns
Similar decks you have ridden?: hmmm i guess flow board but not realy, and nvr ridden one but its prolly simular ride the those carvers with the giant wheels

Ladies and gentlemen, meet what is perhaps the most eye-catching longboard hybrid if not SKATEBOARD in existence. This freak of nature will both fascinate and terrify onlookers ... and probably you too! Most people rob themselves the chance of trying this board claiming it's too freakish to try. Fact of the matter is that on flats, you get an ultra-flexy, wobbly contraption. Give it a few good pushes, and you'll find that this board is not too much different to ride than your standard skateboard. Actually, it might seem slow!

For those who are wondering the crazy side (the one with a jillion wheels) goes first. The purpose is to allow for resistance-free, deep carves. The rear truck is simply there for stability. The way I had it delivered to me came with Tracker RT-S and Kryptonic Hawaiians (nice).

As previously stated, the board is a bore to push around. You're far better off riding a longboard for that. Admittedly, this board is pumpable on the flats, but prepare to spend lots of energy in maintaining momentum; the front wheels eat them up. Speaking of which, beware of small branches, rocks, and anything that could potentially get wedged between the wheels. Get something stuck there and you'll find yourself flying instead of surfing (with the inevitable fall). Find a good hill and you've got yourself perfect waters for the Loaded Hammerhead.

If you have ready access to smooth, wide, steep hills (what I consider to be perfect hills anyway), this board provides a very unique ride. The degree of difference is more comparable to that of driving a two-wheel drive car (other) to driving a four-wheel drive car (Hammerhead). They both accomplish the same thing but feel different in the turns. Don't expect a world of difference, or you'll find yourself feeling like you wasted $300+.

Surprisingly, I loved this board at Landsdowne skate park, a 70's style concrete park. So if you have one nearby, give this board a try. You might be as pleasantly surprised as I was.

OVERALL:

Loaded is very specific in advertising this board as a carving board. Yes, it can do other things. But it won't be as well-rounded as your standard longboard. If you get a chance to try this board, take the opportunity! Ride it aggressively: carve hard! I was presented a rare chance at buying this at a relatively cheap price. However, given the price-to-performance ratio, I can't full-heartedly endorse this board at full price to any but the hard-core carvers, lovers of the novel, and/or people with lots of extra money. I've ridden the Flow Board, Tierney board, Freebord, and a few other hybrids. As far as my experience goes, the Loaded Hammerhead trumps them all.
