Quantcast

Newsflash

The Bennett "lockerboard" was scootin' around the Crossroads show recently and Mr. Bennett called to say they're out on the market now in a limited run of hand-screened, numbered completes.  We're stoked to see the little, rockered deck out there!

They've got the hook-hole in the nose, wheelwells that match perfectly when you crank'em over to turn the way Bennetts do and 'gators on the 4.3's.   They're at TailTap.com.

Great board if you are looking for a campus cruiser. even though it is a smaller deck, it has stability and can handle hills if you carve them out. with the loose/sharp trucks, you have the ultimate control. makes slowing down on those huge hills easy. I have ridden the KS Scimitar Drop thru deck, and even though the Derringer is higher off the ground, it is not hard to push.
Longboard Review
How long have you ridden the board: 2 days
What is your setup like?: 69mm hot spots, cell swiss bearings, s6 trucks
Typical Session Discipline: cruising, carving, pumping
How much did you pay?: $194
Where did you purchase it?: www.originalskateboards.com
What were the strengths of the deck.: very snappy, gives you complete control on the hills when you need it.
What were the weaknesses?: after riding a 44'' deck, it takes some getting used to, but the learning curve is small. No weaknesses, great board!
Similar decks you have ridden?: none, the trucks are nothing like randalls. its a completely different feel.
Would you recommend it?: Yes

I've replaced it with an Original Hybrid 35 that I like much better (see review).
Longboard Review
How long have you ridden the board: 6 months
What is your setup like?: Original S6 truckes, 66mm 81a strikers, bones reds
Typical Session Discipline: City cruising
What were the strengths of the deck.: Pumps like mad - on the flat, goes from a dead standstill to good clip with just few hard pumps.Turns as tight as can as be. Careful or you might disappear up your own a$$.Nice slight concave.
What were the weaknesses?: So little room, it really has only one usable stance. It didn't really have a good place for my back foot.Board is totally stiff, but still has close to an 1" of camber -- nice form pumping, but makes it kind of tippy and high for pushing.
Would you recommend it?: No
