Longboard Review How long have you ridden the board: 2 YearsWhat is your setup like?: Pug Deck, Gullwing Charger Trucks, And Avila 3dm 75 Wheels.Typical Session Discipline: Light Downhill, Flatland, Cruising, Commuting, Parks. How much did you pay?: 240$Where did you purchase it?: Local Skate ShopWhat were the strengths of the deck.: The Pug is easily the most versitile and predictable board in my collection. It was the first i've ever ridden, and I couldn't have made a better choice for my first ride. It's everything a longboard should be for beginners, Stable, Flexy (I personally love the flex), buttery, but still big enough to get the feel for riding longboards. However, I've enjoyed the pug a lot even through my progression, to this day I still use it for downhill and bombing hills, and it works perfectly. The pug really excels in high speed carving. It's my preferred board for carving, because it's responsive but stable. I've never had a problem carving with it and really hauling ass down hills while riding pretty tight lines. This may be because I have a bit of a bulky setup... a lot of people will probably prefer a lighter setup.. but the size and weight of the pug kind of demands a larger wheel. And to my experience, it dosent perform unless it has enough wheel surface area. So the Avila 3dm 75's have been my personal favourite wheel to ride with them (They are decently cheap too.) In closing, VERY versitile board that is suitable for ust about anything you might do in a typical day of riding. Weather it be pumping, cruising, downhill, carves, commuting or learning how to dance. (I've done ALL of those things on the pug)
Weather you're a beginner or an expert... you'll find a good use for the pug! What were the weaknesses?: None really, though there are some areas it dosen't exactly excel in. (High speed downhill is pretty sketchy considering it's flex.).. and it dosent perform that well in bowls.. but I wouldn't expect that from a board like the pug.. it's a lot of board for things like that.Similar decks you have ridden?: None.Would you recommend it?:
Yes

Longboard Review How long have you ridden the board: 2 yearsWhat is your setup like?: i have the old maple version.
holeys + shockpad + 70mm 78a kryptos calssic kTypical Session Discipline: cruising, carving, dancing, mild DH, freerideHow much did you pay?: 50? usedWhere did you purchase it?: forumWhat were the strengths of the deck.: versatility! the shape is just awesome. if you see what adam colton and co. do on a vanguard, what could they do on a proper kick and tail? ^^What were the weaknesses?: despite the cutouts you get wheelbite on all non-sideset wheels above 66mm :( and i get the wobbles at higher speed, but that's probably me and the soft holeysSimilar decks you have ridden?: hm, some loadeds, some arbor, some fibreflex, most stuff out there i guess :)Would you recommend it?:
Yes

Longboard Review How long have you ridden the board: 2 weeksWhat is your setup like?: Paris 180mm Adam Coltons
Orangatang Stimulus Freeride 70mm Wheels
Khiro small shock pads
Bones Reds bearings
Venom 85a cone/barrel both front/backTypical Session Discipline: Freeride, carving, a little slidingHow much did you pay?: $236 completeWhere did you purchase it?: Muir Skate and SurfWhat were the strengths of the deck.: It has a very snappy flex which makes it comfortable and pumpable. Also, it has a ton of leverage for making hard carves and turns, I can dig in a 90 degree turn after a hill and it sticks all the way. The nose and tail are great for manuals, I am even working on ollies and kick flips. What were the weaknesses?: Because of so much leverage, it is prone to speed wobble on even slight adjustments, so I wouldn't say it is a good speed board.Similar decks you have ridden?: Rayne Vice, Arbor Fleetwood, Longboard Larry KomodoWould you recommend it?:
Yes

(i know experienced riders say that its all in my head. but i honestly think the flex of this deck does not help. or maybe it's just my set up. . . ) kind of heavy to pump. maybe too flexy.Similar decks you have ridden?: none. this was my firstWould you recommend it?:
