I am writing this review from the point of view of a hard-end skateboard touring user, who expects a board to perform under very challenging conditions. That is, rough chipseal, unavoidable cracks in road surface, uneven surfaces, heavy loads.

The Rollsrolls is not the best choice for these kind of conditions. It is too delicate (the last thing you want to be thinking about after 5 hours on the board is to dodge otherwise insignificant cracks in the road), too uncomfortable.

For the occassional 'Sunday Lazy Skate' user with plenty of cash to part with however, then this is the ultimate deck.

If you want a deck that will 'last a lifetime', as a Youtube advertisement for the Rollsrolls claims, then you'd better go for a more durable deck.
Longboard Review
How long have you ridden the board: 8 months (7,500km/4,600 miles)
What is your setup like?: Holey trucks, 97mm Flywheels 78a
Typical Session Discipline: Ultra-long distance skateboard touring
How much did you pay?: 350 Euro
Where did you purchase it?: Rollsrolls Germany
What were the strengths of the deck.: Pushing platform: Low to the ground for efficient pushing.

Weight: Lightweight, making it an ease to push, even with big 97mm wheels.

Durability: The carbon/kevlar layer on the very bottom of the deck stands up to abrasion well, and protects the underlying full carbon layers well.

What were the weaknesses?: Durability: I was touring on the deck across the US and Europe wearing a pack on my back with all my camping gear in it. Despite not being over the 100kg (220lbs) weight limit of the deck, the deck developed stress cracks within about 500km (310 miles) of my tour. The fractures did not cause a catastrophic failure of the deck, but were getting noticeably worse as time wore on.

Also, the deck needs to be treated like a carbon deck. Any small impact will scratch the surface, and the fenders in particular are very fragile. After a few months on the board, treating it like any other board, the fenders had long cracks in them.

Comfort: The stiffness of the carbon makes it, in my opinion, unsuitable for a long distance tour when varied road surfaces are expected. The board is only comfortable on very smooth surfaces. On anything else, vibrations from the road make for very sore ankles and feet, even with a foam grip surface on the deck.

Fun factor: The deck feels dead underfoot due to its stiffness and flat riding surface. The lack of concave makes for relatively unresponsive turning.

Would you recommend it?: No
