Help Save Skateboarding!

Skateboarding, in its self, is not a crime yet it is treated as one in the Borough of Doylestown Pennsylvania punishable by the loss of your deck and possibly a fine of $300.00.
The following petition is being presented to support the repeal of the Doylestown Borough Skateboard Ordinance. The ordinance reads; "Skateboarding Ordinance: No person shall use, operate or ride upon nor permit the use, operation or riding upon any skateboard on any public street, public alley, public sidewalk, public park, public parking lot or other public place within the Borough of Doylestown. Any police officer who shall observe any minor person under the age of eighteen (18) years using, operating or riding upon a skateboard in violation of the Ordinance shall have the authority to immediately seize and take possession of such skateboard and hold same until the parent or guardian of such minor person or other responsible adult make application to the Chief of Police for the return thereof. These provisions shall be in addition to and not in restriction of any penalties otherwise provided for the violation of this Ordinance. Any person, firm or corporation who shall violate any provision of this Ordinance shallupon conviction, thereof, be sentenced to pay a fine of not more than threehundred dollars ($300.00)" This ordinance is in place without justification. When signing this petition you acknowledge that skateboarding, in itself, is not a crime and do not support the destruction, defacing, or defacing of public property.

AM Wood Skateboards Giveaway

To celebrate a year of AM Wood Skateboard Company pumping out custom and production boards, we want to give back to our fans.
For 2012 we have a completely new lineup of boards, everything from a double kick dancer and top-mount speed board to a drop-through freestyle deck. Each deck we produce is individually pressed under 40,000lbs of force and finished by a single craftsman to keep quality top notch. Our 2012 graphics move away from the industry norm of 'busy' and 'crowded' art and focus on strong lines and simple designs.
If you don't see what you're looking for in our 2012 lineup, custom boards can be ordered to meet your exact specifications. If you've got an idea, get in touch with us to make it happen.
We wanted to do something special to show our thanks for a great year and launch our 2012 lineup. What better way than give away free stuff!

Ceramic Tekton Bearings now available from Seismic!
The bearing behind the 2011 IGSA World Downhill Championship Victory!

Jan. 27, 2012
For immediate release
Boulder, CO – Seismic is proud to unveil a CERAMIC version of its patent-pending Tekton™ self-aligning bearing system – only eight months after the wildly successful introduction of the original steel-balled Tekton ABEC-7 bearing.
Prototypes of the ceramic Tektons, along with Seismic 85mm Speed Vent wheels, helped propel Seismic Team Rider Mischo Erban to victory at the 2011 IGSA World Downhill Championships last November in Teutonia, Brazil.
“They rolled fast and smooth all day – no need to relube the bearings or change wheels despite multiple runs with top speeds over 70 mph,” said the new World Champion.
“The Tekton design is already in a class by itself, with its integrated spacers, self-aligning flange system, and tight seals to keep dirt out,” added Erban, who relied on the original Tektons and Seismic wheels to set the IGSA Downhill Speed World Record of 80.83mph in the fall of 2010.
“The ceramic balls send the Tektons to a whole new realm of fast.”
Compared to even the finest steel bearing balls, ceramic balls have several remarkable advantages that justify their higher cost. They’re significantly lighter and lower in friction, so they accelerate faster and roll further at a higher speed, even with little or no lubricant. They’re so hard and strong that they crush dirt, debris, and even rust, which keeps the steel raceways clean and polished. They dissipate heat better, so bearings (and wheels) run cooler. They’re also rustproof, so they last longer even when ridden in wet conditions.

SIMS Racing Phase 4 Composite: Blade

“He is truly the godfather of action sports.” (pg 67 Concrete Wave Winter 2012 issue)
For more than 50yrs Tom Sims has influenced skateboarding, longboarding, and surfing. He had the foresight to see the stoke snowboarding and wakeboarding would bring to the masses. He was and is a visionary.
This is your official introduction to the SIMS Phase 4 Composite “Blade”. The Blade continues in the same vein of Tom’s vision. It’s innovative, it’s made of high grade materials, and, above all, it’s a hell of a fun ride. We can only hope to support the weight of his legacy with this offering of pure beauty.
Over the past year SIMS has laid down the retro cruisers Taperkick, Super Ply, Competition, Snake Bite, and Pure Juice (…along with some pretty clean wheels to be mentioned in a later press release). They all came from the same wood shop here in Costa Mesa, California (…otherwise known as the Lumberyard at Select Manufacturing and Distribution).
As an ambassador of a new breed of SIMS cruisers and longboards, the Blade Phase 4 Composite is holding a bright torch one can only try to out pump and catch up to.
