"Our entire team is in the city on
a road trip, and are throwing a downhill freestyle/slide jam for 24 hours on
the legendary Montjuic. The hill is mental - its steep, wide, long and has a
couple of sweet corners to blast round. We'll have a mass skate through the
middle of town as well. No competition, no pressure, no rules - hell you
don't even have to skate just be there with a beer! There's a ton of skaters
from France, Portugal, Spain and the UK coming - join us!"
The event is all day Saturday and Sunday the 30th Ocotber. Email

Slalom Week 2005 was just that…a week long marathon of many different slalom events. It kicked off on Monday night, September 12th with a welcome party for the arriving racers. On Tuesday morning we held a half-mile long cross country push race at a city park in Morro Bay. The winner was Maurus Strobel of Switzerland. That afternoon we ran a park slalom at the newly opened Los Osos skate park. The super fun course was set by Hackett and Olson. Jason Mitchell from Boulder, Colorado threw down the fastest time and walked off with $300.

But this is no “locals only” gig: the asphalt groundswell never wanes and we’re eager to share it. This last Friday, we finally hooked up on “our hill” with the boys from Gravity. These self-styled downhill psycho/savants are masters of their craft and the core riders of the NBS not only got to watch some of the highest caliber riders of their sport, but to ride alongside them, learn from them, and share in the stoke of being one tribe, the tribe of longboarding.
