Slalom Week 2005 was just that…a week long marathon of many different slalom events. It kicked off on Monday night, September 12th with a welcome party for the arriving racers. On Tuesday morning we held a half-mile long cross country push race at a city park in Morro Bay. The winner was Maurus Strobel of Switzerland. That afternoon we ran a park slalom at the newly opened Los Osos skate park. The super fun course was set by Hackett and Olson. Jason Mitchell from Boulder, Colorado threw down the fastest time and walked off with $300.
I don’t mean to sound immodest, but the Ninja Bomb Squad pretty much owns Del Mar Avenue, in the sleepy San Diego town of Ocean Beach. We cruise it, carve it, shred it and love it. But this is no “locals only” gig: the asphalt groundswell never wanes and we’re eager to share it. This last Friday, we finally hooked up on “our hill” with the boys from Gravity. These self-styled downhill psycho/savants are masters of their craft and the core riders of the NBS not only got to watch some of the highest caliber riders of their sport, but to ride alongside them, learn from them, and share in the stoke of being one tribe, the tribe of longboarding.

ASR was not all just good conversations and beautiful women, as my ethereal method of description may have missed pointing out some of the things we took note of. We have compiled this list of things that were well worth taking note of and passing on to you our readers. This article focuses on a number of products we found very interesting, be it their method of design or their innovative nature I am sure all of these things will be worth keeping an eye on in the future.
