Athletes will meet at the beautiful Cloisters Park. The race will take the competitors through some of the most picturesque and rugged landscapes while enabling the athletes to experience stand up paddling on land.

"I'm stoked that the Kahuna Creations "Big Ride" land paddling race is part of the 2008 National Skateboard Championships. Skateboarders are always up for trying something new, and I think the "Big Ride" is just that, and the $500 purse makes it even more exciting."  says Jack Smith - Race Director and former Guinness Book of World Record holder for long distance skateboarding.

“This is a chance for the athletes to have fun as well as make history.  Board riding is all about fun, being with friends and trying new things” says Steve McBride, Founder of Kahuna Creations, “the Big Ride competition at Morro Bay is a great way to kick off this new element of board riding.”

“I'm stoked to try the land paddling at the Nationals this year.” says Gary Fluitt, 2004 World Slalom Champion and 2007 World Slalom Champion Runner-Up, “As maybe the most non-conformist subculture on the planet, skaters ought to be open minded to try new things. Land paddling looks like a fun way to get across town on a board”

The Arizona Pusher.

Active Image

This is the first ever Arizona Pusher, and it is open to everyone! We are working with local shops and some of out favorite board companies to put this event on and spread the stoke in Arizona. This event requires nothing but fun and a little exercise , so if you have a board come out and push! This event was initially the idea of Cole Kurtz and was brought to life with the help of a few friends and sponsors, PoopRadio clothing and boards owner, Christian Selby, and the help from Honey Threads, Sidewalk Surfer, Tunnel,Loaded, and LongboardLarry. Through their advice and generosity this event was able to become a reality , and the whole thing is really molded together by all you lovely people out there on the fish helping plan and organize the event.
