Saturday, March 4th, 2006. A field of the best racers in tight slalom came together to answer the challenge issued by Dave Hegstrom and Mike Maysey: "Who's the Most Aggressive TS Skater on the Planet?" The venue was the famously steep and popular Pump Station hill, nestled in a quiet arroyo in San Diego, California. The event was the Pump Station TS Challenge.
Arriving to the Pump Station hill under perfectly blue Southern Californai skies, skaters arrived to find the answer. They found a seventy-cone course starting midway down the hill, extending through the infamous high-speed ess-curve and concluding just above the last straight section of runout. The course was surrounded by a crowd of skaters and spectators drawn to the event, some still fervently skating a run of cones left over from the TS Clinic put on by La Costa Boys Racing and Silverfish Longboarding.
