I’m beginning to organize my fourth annual Euro Crazy Tour where we ride the rails, hit all of the IGSA World Cup races and tour many of the great cities in Europe. We’ll use Eurail and Inter Rail Passes, camp out and stay in cheap hotels in the cities. Having fun and riding our skateboards everyday will be our only serious commitments.
This year the Journey will begin in Amsterdam. I’m planning to arrive there on July 4th and will spend the first weekend there. We’ll depart Amsterdam on Tuesday, July 8th and spend the day traveling to Peyragudes, France for the Peyragudes Deluxe Cup. This event is the first IGSA European World Cup of the month. After Peyragudes we’ll travel to Paris and spend two-nights there before going on to Jungholz, Germany for the second big race. The Almabtrieb World Cup has become a classic on the schedule and will take place from July 16-19. On the 20th we’ll travel to Salzburg, Austria for another two-night stop over before continuing on to Thalgau, Austria for Rock & Roll, the third and final European IGSA World Cup race. The race ends on July 26th and from that point forward the focus will change from World Cup downhills to pure fun.
From July 27-31, we’ll be making our way to Gothenburg, Sweden hitting some of the great party cities in Europe along the way. Stops are planned for Munich, Hamburg and Copenhagen to check out the beautiful cities and sample the night life. Gothenburg is the site of the 2008 Slalom skateboarding World Championships Aug 1-3. After Gothenburg we’ll head up to Stockholm for the conclusion of the tour. Stockholm is one of the best cities in the world to skate around and there is an abundance of things to do. The tour will conclude on Aug 7 when we depart from Stockholm’s Arlanda Airport.
Anyone who is interested in joining the group for all or part of the tour please feel free to contact me at rietema_m@yahoo.com. Ask anyone who has ever done this tour and they will tell you it was quite possibly the most fun and crazy month of their life!

World #2 Ranked Speedboarder throws down the gauntlet
MEDIA RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE USE 22 JANUARY 2008
Current world number 2 ranked downhill skateboarder, Canada's Mischo Erban has registered to compete at the first International Gravity Sports Association (IGSA) World Cup event for 2008, Newton's Playground in Bathurst, NSW Australia.
Erban, who was narrowly beaten by Sweden's Erik Lundberg at last year's Hot Heels Africa World Cup event in Cape Town, South Africa, has made his intentions clear for 2008 with an early registration into Newton's Playground. Erban is chasing his first World Cup Championship and with vital World Cup Championship points on the line at Bathurst he cannot afford to miss the event. By registering, Erban effectively throws down the gauntlet to Lundberg who, according to IGSA President Marcus Rietema, is currently considering his options.
World # 4 ranked Speedboarder, USA's Noah Sakomoto has also registered to make the trip to Newton's Playground heaping added pressure on Lundberg to front up downunder to defend his crown.
We've been working really hard on the 2008 schedule for many months now. We are still working on six additional World Cup races that could be added to the schedule before January 1st. Here are the confirmed 2008 IGSA World Cup events. Additional information on each event will be released soon.
