My journey down to Southern California was a great success. I had a number of folks to see and only a short time. Here are some highlights. I have video highlights coming soon!
The reason to go down to SoCal was to attend Gravity's Slidefest. The event was epic. The level of skating is going thru the roof.
I traveled down with Yan L'hermitte. Yan is an awesome slider and freerider. We got up early to hit Buffalo airport for a 5:30 am flight! Buffalo is 2 hours from Toronto. We had no problems at the border or with the plane. These were very good omens!
Once we arrived in San Diego, I drove up to visit Buddy Carr at Tailtap.com. I spent time creating CW shirts. I stepped out for a burrito. Don't get me started on how delicious burritos from California are. Taco Bell is not really food...it's a food substitute.
On Friday morning I headed up to Orange County for a meeting at Chris Chaput's house. Brad from Altered Skate was there along with a few other folks. High level conversation over pizza...my kind of meeting!

….Customize your board, Protect your board, Illuminate your board
One thing all skate boarders and long boarders can agree upon is the destructive damage caused to their decks from the inevitable “bail out”, crashing their board into a curb. A leading developer and manufacturer of photo luminescent products has solved that problem with an extremely cool side-effect. Board edges that glow brightly in the night – energy-free!
Board Brite is created using military-grade, proprietary vinyl infused with rare earth photo luminescent crystals. It’s a process Board Brite’s parent company, Fotolum, has perfected for over a decade. The end result of this unusual combination of elements is a product that both protects and illuminates boards and boarding equipment. Backed with a superior 3M adhesive, the strips can be put nearly anywhere, giving the rider the power to customize boards, accessories and safety equipment. In fact, the website states, “Use on decks, trucks, wheels, helmets, pads, gloves, skateboards, longboards, snowboards, surfboards, skimboards, kneeboards, skates, skis, and anything else you can think of!”
Flexdex TV releases Episode 5, “Will it Break?: Italian Redux.” Maz Ahmadpour and Stephan Reinhardt star in the latest installment of the hit online show.
