Coming in September: Evolutions Vol.2 PDF Print E-mail
Friday, 04 August 2006

Do you remember Evolutions, the killer, free DVD that Concrete Wave magazine put out last year?  If you're a subscriber, you received one with your September issue, in 2005.  If you weren't a subscriber, you were able to download the entire DVD from Silverfish Longboarding.com, for free.  Thousands of people did, and the project was huge success in the eyes of the sponsors that put videos on the disc and in ours, because we were psyched to be able to give to skaters all over the world.  You can still download it, now, if you haven't already.  Spreadin' the stoke, as the Jersey boys would say...

Well it's that season, again, and Evolutions Vol.2 is done.  It's longer than last year's disc, with more videos from skate companies and it's still free to every Concrete Wave subscriber.  It will be included with the September issue of the mag, which will hit the mailhouse in the last week or so of August.

The best designs come from a need to fill a void, solving problems that exist, and the passion to make it work. The following rant describes what Earthwing is, and why I bother trying so hard with all that I have.

Support the FLEX YMCA Skateboard Program PDF Print E-mail
Saturday, 01 July 2006
[This comes to us from Lizzie at Purple Skunk in San Francisco. Help'm out.]

Crissie Ponciano, San Francisco's YMCA Director of Teen Programs, has been working on what seemed to be a never-ending project for years. The light at the end of the tunnel has just shone through! Crissie's mission was to administer the "FLEX" Skateboard program at the YMCA that will start this summer and continue after school and weekends throughout the year. Crissie's prayers where answered when the head of a nearby playground allowed the YMCA to setup the ramps and rails on the premise. Kudos to Cabrillo Playground (the administrator's son skates, so she understood the need)!
