Michael Stefaun's new Pro Deck from Pool Kings is bringing the bling! Look at that thing! Click it to visit the site.
Stefaun's roots are in street skating. Therefore, it's only natural that his pool shape closely resembles the traditional, double-end, twin tip shape that so many street decks incorporate. Michael's Pool King deck is constructed using polymer composites and 5 plys of hard rock maple veneers. Pool Kings claim these are 8 ounces lighter than standard 7 ply wood decks of the same size and shape and retain their "pop" for a longer time as well.
In November, our roving ‘fish reporter spied and rode the Rogers Brothers’ new aluminum speedboards and we reported on them and our interview with Dave Rogers. At the time, Dave said, “be patient”. He wouldn’t offer them to the public until he had enough in stock, and in final form. Well, Mr. Rogers has been busy, and he’s ready to set you up with speedboards, all-new minis and a board rack that will have you drooling! Click through to see the new stuff...
Recently, we encountered the rare and exclusive Venturi skateboard. You may have seen it in the Forums –it’s the brainchild of Peter Sanftenberg, the designer of the carbon-fiber RollsRolls boards, and he recently had one with him on a trip to SoCal. We had an opportunity to chat with Peter about the design, to shoot some pics for you and to ride it a little. More recently, we had another opportunity to ride the Venturi, but with another setup that we’d never have thought of, but that we loved. This deck has some surprises, and here’s our report.
For 10-years, Venice based Arbor has grown into a leading snow and skate brand based on the idea that environmentally friendly natural elements can be used to create improved performance, increased durability, and a compelling level of style. Now for the first time, Arbor’s full line of snowboards, skateboards, and apparel can be viewed at the Company’s new retail showroom.
The new Arbor store is located in the heart of Venice, at 102 Washington Blvd., one block off the Venice Pier. It is situated in the front part of the building that has served as Arbor’s home for the last two years - a classic Venice structure that previously housed the Roller Disco era skate shop, Skatey’s. Rumor has it that the building was moved to its current location in the late 1940’s from the legendary Pacific Ocean Pier (P.O.P.), where it was the amusement park’s first funhouse.
Venice, CA (12/14/05) – Arbor welcomes Brad Gobdel into the family as its new sales rep for the Rocky Mountain region. Brad is now in charge of supporting Arbor’s snowboard and skate sales throughout Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, New Mexico, Nebraska, and Kansas. His level of experience, hard driving work ethic, and deep appreciation of the brand’s unique message will allow Brad to improve Arbor’s overall efforts in this key region.
Brad grew up in South Bend, Indiana. He got started in the industry at age 15 working retail at North Shore Aqua Sports in South Haven, Michigan. Brad made a move to Colorado in 1992 and has been working as a sales rep since 2003. Currently, Brad’s other lines include Planet Earth, Adio, and Von Zipper.
“I respect Arbor’s focus on product innovation.” said Brad. "In a world of cookie cutter boards and corporate takeovers, it is nice to be a part of something different,"
Sales Manager, Ken Perkins will be working closely with Brad and is stoked to have him on board, “We are very fortunate to be working with Brad.
