Purveyors of the first drop boards created, Landyachtz has been the major player in the drop board market for nearly 10 years. First came the DH race and the Urban Assault, their huge success was followed by the most successful Speedboard of all time, the Evo. Continuing with ingenuity and forward thinking the Chinook was designed with a forward rake to make drifting easier and free-riding more fun.
Never taking a break from designing new shapes and developing new products, Landyachtz has 3 new shapes to offer; the re-designed Spud, the Switch and the Dually. People come in different sizes, so the perfect solution is to offer the same highly functional shape in 3 sizes.
With rapidly changing and evolving riding types we knew there needed to be a product that met the challenges riders are creating. More generous EFP (effective foot platform), and functional Gnar Bars make these boards more capable than any other free-ride board out there.
What are Gnar bars? The deck surface continues up the drop on both ends of the deck providing more meat for your feet to lock into while cornering and drifting.
Landyachtz is happy to release 3 new shapes this week and are stoked to kick them off with a contest to win the fist models off of the line. The new Spud, the Switch and the Dually.
Silverfish is honored to play host to the community action that brought about the FSM. As far as we are aware this is the first community collaboration to bring a longboard from concept, collaboration to production. The credit falls sqarely on the members that gave their time, attention and knowledge to the project and to Comet; who not only believed in the abiltiy of the community to produce a final design worthy of production, to also however actually bring it into their production lineup. Silverfish would like to thank Comet and all of the community members that made this project possible, not only have they broght an amazing board to life but have also validated the community here at Silverfish. Highlighting what the knowledge, creativity, passion, and dedication of the community paired with a enterprising and commited company can accomplish. To all those who brought the FSM to life, to all those about to skate it, we salute you.
For years Comet has been recognized for offering the unique blend of rocker and concave. This combo lowers your center of gravity and locks your feet into position. The driving feel of the rocker concave mix inspired the design community process that led to the FSM. The FSM has the most extreme bends that Comet has ever pulled off. The result is one of the easiest boards to skate and progress on. Killer for sliding of all types. Any hill is controllable with this ride. And the FSM is low to the ground for easy commuting. Other special features that Comet added by popular demand are wheel wells and a 1-inch side cut. The wheel wells allowed for an extended the riding platform that can still accommodate any wheel that most consider freeriding with. The sidecut gives the board a touch of torsional flex and, in combination with the rocker, it creates that easy to push around drifty feel that you love. A ton of work goes into video and film production, if you’ve made a video before I’m sure you know, and if you haven’t I hope you make a video one day soon, it’s a ton of fun. In December some of the guys at Landyachtz sat down and came up with answers to questions like; Do we want a long video or a short one? Online or Dvd release? What should it cover? Who should be in it? Where should we film? When should we film?
To get the most interest out of the project (for longboarders everywhere and ourselves) we decided to produce a series of short format Eh Team videos to release and spread throughout the internet. We’ll be showcasing not only some of the sick riding sessions going down but also a little bit about what’s happening at the Landyachtz factory.
The Rayne Longboards video has been a long time coming. Nick Dunmall had to edit it 4 separate times from scratch - his computer crashed after each edit. The video features most of the team Adam Auger, Brianne Davies, Chris Dahl, Mike Benda, Graham Buksa, Shawn Downey, Kyle Martin, Kevin Reimer, and Mark Short. The video takes the viewer around the world with footage taken at GMR, Marryhill, North Vancouver, Chilliwack, Giants Head, and the UK.
Team Rayne is easily the most diverse and well rounded team in the industry with a crew of riders who truly live and breathe the sport. It is an honour to have them represent our boards. Look to the coming months with more video released throughout the summer. The action has only just begun...“
