Not all skate shirts are black! Check out the Silverfish Gear Page . There are new men's, women's and kids' shirts! (Some are even black.)
We're using "spreadshirt", so you order straight from them. Dig through the listings and you'll find some classic 'Fish designs, including shirts with art taken from member Ryan's art-pen drawings. Have an idea for a shirt? Send it in!
It all started in 2003 when two college roommates began pressing and hand painting longboards for college friends. One would press and shape the boards out of Canadian hard rock maple or Baltic birch, while the other would hand paint the deck to the specifications of the client. It wasn't long before they couldn't press and paint boards fast enough to meet the demand for them. Three years later Miramar Longboards was born out of a shared love for longboarding, surf & skate culture, and the arts.
True to our humble beginnings, we're a company of close friends and family who are committed to delivering a quality product, made with the highest craftsmanship and integrity. Our decks are built with Canadian hard rock maple so as to ensure a stronger, lighter board. All of our boards are locally pressed in Ontario, California in order to generate a more personal touch through the care and artistry that is put into each and every board.
A sledgehammer is a tool consisting of a large, flat head attached to a lever (or handle). The head is typically made of metal. The sledgehammer can apply more impulse than other hammers, due to its large size. Along with the mallet, it shares the ability to distribute force over a wide area. This is in contrast to other types of hammer, which concentrate force in a relatively small area. The handle is typically half-a-meter (1 foot, 7.68 inches) to a full meter (3 feet, 3.37 inches) long; the head mass is usually one to three kilograms (2.2 to 6.6 pounds). Sledgehammers usually require two hands and a swinging motion involving the entire torso, in contrast to smaller hammers used for driving in nails. The combination of a long swinging range, and heavy head, increase the force of the resulting impact. Those are all facts according to wikipedia.
For the past five years I've been looking for more grip.
We all know the problems: Longboarders are riding faster than ever, taking corners faster than ever, freeriding and doing standup drifts. Most longboards are sold as a complete board and grip - sadly - is a second thought for most manufacturers. Griptape is something they have to include to complete the board. It is usually purchased based on the cheapest possible cost and not what is best for longboarders. On the other hand, boards that are gripped at a local shop usually get shortboard griptape - certainly not designed for longboarders.
Earthwing Skateboards is pleased to announce the newest version of the Superglider. The new wider ‘Glider has the responsiveness of the old version with a fuller shape, wood and thermoplastic construction, and two wheelbases for two flex options and a small but functional nose.
We are stoked on this new wider Superglider. With its composite construction, snappy flex, perfect wheelbase, slight nose wedge and functional tail, the original Superglider was the best all-around longboard on the market. We just made it better.
