The S-ONE Lifer Helmet is designed to fit low on the head like a traditional soft foam skateboard helmet. This helmet is a break through design combining the added safety of a CPSC certified helmet with the comfort of a soft foam helmet. We modeled the Lifer after our Destro helmet by replicating the fit, but giving it an old school look with the traditional circular air vents.

The S-ONE Daggers Lifer Helmet is a professional grade helmet featuring a high-impact EPS foam inner mold for maximum protection. This helmet is CPSC certified for skateboard and bike usage. The Lifer comes with two extra sets of sizing pads to insure a perfect customized fit.

It was early February and I had surfwax in my hand. I smelled it and I smelled summer, pretty girls with dark tans shimmering in cocoa butter tanning oil, I smelled the sea mist wafting in off the crest of an onshore peak. I smelled the official smells of surfing courtesy of a bar of sexwax. And I smiled because I had a good idea: bring smell to skating. We never planned on doing slide pucks until that moment, and then we couldn’t not do them. As LBL always says, “be innovative, don’t just copy what everybody else is doing”. And if we were going to do this… they would be the best pucks on the market or we would bail the whole effort. We laid out 5 things to perfect in this order: 1. material, 2. shape, 3. design (holes), 4. color and 5. smell.

Material: we ordered or had on hand the top 7 slide pucks on the market and started there. The goal was to develop the material that would be as good as the best on the market, or better. We tried hybrid mixtures like nylon/polycarbonate and polypropylene/polyethylene but the best results came from our Delrin samples.

Shape: we examined all the shapes: circle, square, rectangle, octagon, soap shape… studying each as they touch down, slide and then release, finally coming up with a better shape - not a square, not a circle… a squircle. Our shape has the perfect radius, both top and bottom, symmetrical, flippable, nice and thick too.

Holes: we were apprehensive but intrigued at having holes all the way thru our puck but in early testing couldn’t believe the performance advantages, actually, there wasn’t any disadvantage at all to the holes (contrary to naysayers). The holes obviously reduce weight and make the puck sink into the heel of your hand nice and comfy like. The reduced resistance was super noticeable and at this point we knew we had an awesome puck.

Color: life is too short for boring pucks. grey, white, black, yawn…. but Pink Bubblegum, Cocoa, Glow in the Dark… Bam!

Scent: the material experts said smell couldn’t be successfully introduced into the materials. The scented oil companies said exceeding their flashpoint ratings by 300 degrees would nullify the smell. The injection molding plant feared for their equipment and safety, especially with Delrin which is highly volatile at high temperatures with oil. Undeterred, we found creative ways to fake out traditional processes and the result: like surf wax, our pucks smell great brand new, worn down, during use, or just sitting there.

Those who haven’t tried these are divided 70/30 with the majority saying “genius” and the naysayers claiming “the holes will rip your arm off”. But 100% of the skaters who’ve tried them are in agreement: “best pucks ever”. LBL passed a grip of them out at Cathlamet and everybody was stoked on them. From his pro riders, to our team, and the customers or recipients lucky enough to score some in the short two weeks they’ve been out, everybody agrees these pucks wear well, slide awesome, and smell good too!  Holesom Scented Slide Pucks… smell ya later :O
