Pro boarder? You dont have to be paid to skate to know how to slide. And if you are going those speeds it is your responsibility to be comfortable with them; the same goes for bikers.
I'm 100% unwilling to concede this point. We are stopped all the time for doing the same thing as bikers. It is unfair.
When you are going 40mph on ANYTHING, the only thing that will stop you is a wall. if the biker fell, he would skid into traffic just as readily as I. When you hit the brakes on a bike at 40, you do it gradually, or you skid out and lose control of your stop. SO, we have a very comparable stopping distance. the skill required to make the stop has nothing to do with the argument.

My friend told me he would almost like another low point in skating so that it would weed out posers and what not...

Yeah, me too. They are ruining it. I liked it better when only true Longboarders road.
longboarders should know the media is only going to put a negative spin with lots of sensationalism and only cause more scrutiny over the sport they love.
