Yikes! Came across this stock photo CD while surfin' the Web. Here's the mainstream marketer's vision of skateboarding teens. Read the caption "... It's urban, with a certain suburban flair."
This is what the world sees. This is what is selling. Its the look, its the current "whatever". Everyone wants the look, and the mainstream skateboard market is beating the drum as hard as anyone.
You look at this stuff and say, what a joke. The only thing is, its not a joke. this is why adio has 37 styles, this is why softgoods are so important, and basically running the mainstream skate market
however, the helmet rocks!

Plastic skaters. They come in a box.
Dont look like the people at my local skatepark.
My girlfriend, who emailed the original link to me, called the kids in the photos "Stepford Teens".
Here's a link for those not familiar with the movie "The Stepford Wives": http://www.stomptokyo.com/movies/s/stepford-wives.html
