the snurfer came out around 79. Are you guys sure that the 1963 snowboarding/sims connection was not a misprint and was supposed to be 1973.

Snurfers were definitely around during the 60s, since one of my best friends in 1st grade had one:



According to numerous sources, Sims built his first board while in jr high, which would have been in the early 60s. And last I heard, that first board is on display at the Colorado Ski and Snowboard Museum...

I remember those ads/pics from the Christmas catalogs. So definitely they were prior to 79. On the Toms Sims issue, thanks for the info. I did not realize he was into the cutting edge so hard in jr high school age, to the point of making his stuff. I skated for him, as an AM, in the 80/81 time frame, but I never got an opportunity to meet him in person.

I have a set of Sims snake and Pure Juice I have been riding since about 1978. They're still going strong and grip like nobody's business!
