Then why can't you get her to let you take a nap? Maybe you can tell her you're going to lift weights in the basement, and take a nap on your new rubber flooring! (wink, wink)

Since this is Silverfish, home of the "wear a helmet" posts, you'll all be happy to hear that my christmas present from my kids was a new "hard hat" (i.e. uncertified helmet). It's the Macon by Bern. Comfortable. I got my son a new helmet, too (s-one) and we spent some time stickering them on xmas day (yeah, i know, they say not to put stickers on helmets). Here's my Bern:

The first christmas I spent with my son after the year of his birth when he was in hospital.
My biggest present was being together with him and my ex (?) and spending this harmonic time together.
- the joy and surprise on his face when we came back from a walk and there were presents under our small tree.
- the roasted duck with apples, red cabbage and bacon wrapped prunes I cooked
- playing with him and his kid´s cassette recorder with karaoke microphones (much to his mothers annoyance) and quieter with his chalkboard drawing stuff (mostly jellyfish or explosions or exploding jellyfish).
- being able to enjoy this time absolutely unworried by any troubles.
(with high hopes on an application for a very cool job and enough orders for decks to keep me busy otherwise till february.)
I think that was my best christmas EVER!
