Default EA Sports Skate

So I didn't see a post about this game, yet(and I am not sure if this is the right forum for this - didn't really fit in gen. longboarding or off topic and this type of stuff is usually posted here but mods can move it if needed).

But has anyone heard about this? A small clip was played on the show Rob and Big. This game sounds like it is going to be ridiculously good. I haven't owned a gaming console since SNES and I am probably going to get the xbox360 just for this game.

This is suppose to be much more realistic than the 8 foot ollies, frictionless grinding and pushing a button to do a trick that THPS brought us.

Read: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skate_%28video_game%29 If you haven't heard about this.

"Skate has set to provide a different way to the 'button mashing' control method, which the Tony Hawk series pioneered[4]. The new innovative control scheme will feature usage of both control sticks for all tricks[5]. For example, a move such as an ollie is not performed with a button, but by pulling the analog stick down and then up to simulate an ollie."

"Many different factors will affect each trick. For example, the angle and speed of the skater will affect the look of each grind. The game will include several different stylistic elements to add to the mood of the game. A 'skate style' camera angle will add to the immersion. Also, each trick is recorded and can be watched again from all sorts of angles"

I don't know if any of you remember how much more fun Thrasher's Skate and Destroy was compared to the silliness of THPS, but I have a feeling this is going to be a modernized version of that - which would be amazing.

thats totally unrealistic. theres no way anyone could skate in pants that tight

but, asside from the spandex jeans, sounds good. but i dunno, maybe a little to hard? this means that in order to perform good tricks, you have to push the analog sticks to 10 and 7 degrees for a hardflip? i guess we'll see.

EA + 360 = micropayments out the ass. I wouldnt be surprised if you couldnt unlock stuff by playing the game, but have to BUY #### on the marketplace.

As a general rule of thumb, if I could actually go do something, I'll do it rather than play a video game about it. I can go skateboarding, I cannot kill alien-reptile things with a chainsaw-equipped machine gun or kill thousands of zombies in a shopping mall.

Bonus: what 2 games am I talking about?

Definitely one of the coolest guns in any video game. I mean really, it's a ####### machine gun with a ####### chainsaw on the bottom? How incredibly badass is that?

Nope. That was a trick question.
The correct answer is: What Mile High Mark does in his free time.

Nice Fineout. You know Dead Rising only from the commercials? Get it, play it. It's a LOT of fun.

Gears is awesome. I was playing with a silverfishler last night (slickhare). Yes it is a machine gun with a chainsaw bayonet. The real trick is being able to be effective shooting from the hip. Aiming (left trigger) is to damn slow, unless you're behind cover.

my gamertag is Patrick McDuffy. I play fairly often and would love more silverfishers to play with.
