Default A world without pros

http://www.aworldwithoutpros.com/

What a joke. I had to close that website before the flash thing went any longer.

They act like they are the only ones that are doing #### for skateboarding. There are plenty of non pros out there busting their asses and getting footy and photos. Even that blitz doesnt do any better by making their crap in china.

...yes, i totally forgot that the current pros are just YEARNING TO break up the "stagnant" water of skateboarding

"Skateboard Companies give back to the community not only through videos and advertising, but through tors, demos and product innovation. Blank decks do none of the above"

what a crock of ####, Oh, silly me I have forgotten to thank the skateboard companies for making mainstream skateboarding a fashion oriented bit-o-####, And I've done forgot all the wonderful things they bring to me, like useless filler ads, Videos with nothing but nasty bails, uninspiring skating and repetive rails/ledges/gaps... I'd rather watch a wetboys film instead of the crap all chock full of "pros"...

"Sure, Pros can find sponsorship elsewhere, but there are only so many shoe contracts to be had. Why should professional skateboardsers have to make their living promoting pogo sticks, soft drinks or big-box retailers? But if they can't make their living selling skateboards, what choice do they have?"

...perhaps get a real freaking job...or innovate the market...
instead of selling yourself and your "innovative" "custom" trucks to 13 year olds bleeding out the sack trying to be "pro" before all their friends...while i respect the perserverance they have, its for all the wrong reasons...instead of just trying to conquer their environment, they are trying to beat the kid next to them.

Does any pro really make all their money out of pro-deck royalties? That site is a little desperate. We've been over this several times, so I won't talk about the blanks.
Still kids get into skateboarding like its a career, its like people present it as some kind of job instead of a passion, a sport, or a hobby.
I had no idea that skateboarding could be used for anything besides having fun when I started, so I had fun and kept on going. If you dont have fun skateboarding and only look at it like some 9-5 job then you shouldnt skate.

I just saw the site and theres a pic of Andrew Reynolds holding his daughter, does he want pity?

...what a joke. Pros are supposed to make their money by skating, not selling boards with their names on them. All they do is whine but nobody is offering any solutions up. The product needs to improve. Earthwing street decks are a great example of this.

whatever

I received the entire 32 page document at ASR about blanks. It is slowly trickling out.

It should be on the net (in over 2 dozen languages) very soon.

My thoughts? Well, my first comment is this...BLANKS are a symptom...
here's just 2 questions to chew on...

Was your first board a pro board?

Do you see any difference between a pro board and a board with no graphics?

there is going to be a helluva "blanklash"

I sense this is ONLY the tip of the iceberg

Let the free market rule... anybody who would use any kind of tactics to control the distribution of blanks (other than voting with your wallet) is a nazi! Does anybody really think blanks will replicate Insect, Loaded, Roe, or any other highly technical skateboard manufacturing companies?
And All of the pro's can get over themselves, and get real jobs... like me!
