I am waiting for some in certain sectors to use this:
yes, the infamous
Chewbacca Defense!

as seen on south park

Cochran: Ladies and gentlemen of this supposed jury, Chef's attorney would certainly want you to believe that his client wrote "Stinky Britches" ten years ago. And they make a good case. Hell, I almost felt pity myself! But, ladies and gentlemen of this supposed jury, I have one final thing I want you to consider. Ladies and gentlemen, this is Chewbacca. Chewbacca is a Wookiee from the planet Kashyyyk. But Chewbacca lives on the planet Endor. Now think about it; that does not make sense!
Gerald Broflovski: Dammit!
Chef: What?
Gerald: He's using the Chewbacca Defense!
Cochran: Why would a Wookiee, an eight-foot tall Wookiee, want to live on Endor, with a bunch of two-foot tall Ewoks? That does not make sense! But more important, you have to ask yourself: What does this have to do with this case? Nothing. Ladies and gentlemen, it has nothing to do with this case! It does not make sense! Look at me. I'm a lawyer defending a major record company, and I'm talkin' about Chewbacca! Does that make sense? Ladies and gentlemen, I am not making any sense! None of this makes sense! And so you have to remember, when you're in that jury room deliberatin' and conjugatin' the Emancipation Proclamation, [approaches and softens] does it make sense? No! Ladies and gentlemen of this supposed jury, it does not make sense! If Chewbacca lives on Endor, you must acquit! The defense rests.

************************************************** *********************
if it's a LONGBOARDER, then you must acquit!

No, it’s more along the lines of people thinking that the absolutely must have the most expensive trucks or boards because the stuff that’s been serving riders for years is suddenly tantamount to riding on gear constructed from Cheerios and marshmallow fluff.

I agree....it's nice to have quality gear, however, when you can notice the difference and use it to it's full potential.

I believe the best way to market a longboard is to get adam colton to make a video with it.

after do you humu came out, I really wanted a humu.

There's a fashion thing there too,
and I got beaten to the loaded comment...

I always wanted a T-shirt that said

If this was more expensive
would you think it was cool?

There's so much FUD spread through the various sewing circles that it's not even funny. Someone told me that they wouldn't consider one product because, "they heard they break." Interestingly enough, I've sold more of that particular product than probably anyone in the US, and I have heard of zero breakages. And considering my liberal return policy, I'm sure I'd have heard from someone if they had issues.

was it randals?

i always see people talking about how theyre not good quality and the axles bend... but ive been riding them for the 3 years ive been longboarding with no problems and im also one of the bigger people on this forum weighin about 225 and i ride them hard and fast.

you dont see any of the euro riders complaining about randals other than the high price on the other side of the atlantic, and they have very long dh runs. wouldnt you would think that the krypto melting heat would also bend the bend-happy randal axles?

Don't believe the hype is what it all boils down to.

However, in this day and age of longboarders shipping back and forth when things do go wrong, I'd just as well like to have them right the first time. Even though it ended up getting replaced in a couple of weeks, my crooked kingpin hole on a set of Randals a year ago is enough for me to be looking at other products since then. I can afford to be vengeful and intolerant.

Also, let me say in reference to that Wikipedia article that I've been using SCO Unix at work for the past two months, and I think it blows.

Basically I'm just a consumer rain cloud today.

--I don't think that the "breakage" reference MHM made was in regards to Randals, as he once had a "sold as is" policy with them. Except for that one time that dude had the kingpin hole that was WAYYY off (much like the one I had delivered from a different distributor) and he did allow said truck to be replaced because it sucked so hard and because he's a stand up guy. If my memory serves correctly, at least.
