its seperation from my daily problems and responsabilities, when i'm skating, i'm just skating, i'm not worrying about my finances, or what school i'm going to send my kids to, or how i'm giong to figure out how to get a better paying job or trying to figure out whats wrong with my car....

I'm 52 and skating makes me feel like a kid again. I remember skating the gentle sloping curve of the sidewalk on my block, first with metal wheels on a red Roller Derby deck and then with the faster clay wheels of a solid wood genuine skateboard. There was no urethane wheel back in those days and the smallest speck would grind you to a halt. Trucks were primitive and made turning difficult if not near impossible. Things have improved since I was a kid. Now I skate with better boards with faster wheels and trucks that actually turn. I skate bigger hills and muli-level parking garages. But the fun of carving a turn is still there and takes me back to being a kid and skating without a care in the world just me, my board and my friends.

it just feels...good.
The adrenaline from screaming speed beats anything else and that feeling of freedom and unboundedness you get from carving a hill or cruising through the street lights at night...is just...I dunno but I know I like it.
...The impressed looks from cars that you pass and the waves from the hot girls in those cars is a plus too

It gets my head outta my day job, heavy worries and other things in life that might try to pound me down. I end up with a fat ass grin and 10+ on the "Got Stoked" scale...
