Ok, the "what do you like to eat/drink after skating thread" is proving to be popular...so let's focus on recipes that we can make at home...after a sesh...

anyone got anything really good?
the easier the better...

i call this the expatriate's delight:

one ripe avocado
one wedge of bleu cheese (stilton preferably)
one loaf of sour dough bread (or most any bread will do)

scoop, slice, and pile on to taste!

goes well with a red wine such as syrah or chianti optional bier would be delirium tremens or duchesse de bourgogne...

Here's a Man's version of Fish Taco's

1 lbs of any "white" fish (something not too oily)
grill it (every man should have a BBQ) and set aside

Salsa
2 tomato's
2 peppers (your choice on hotness I like Serano's)
1 onion
chop, mix set aside

1/2 a head of cabbage, chop and set aside

White sauce
1/2cup of plain yogurt
1/2cup of Mayo
add pickle if you must

place 2-4 oz of fish in a soft corn tortilla add cabbage, salsa and top with white sauce and squeeze slice of lime over all. repeat as needed until hunger is abated

Pasta, pesto and bacon.

Cook pasta, fry bacon.

When both are done, add green pesto and mix together.

Eat

Repeat as needed.

I cook well. I will give up my secret burger recipe later. Last thing I put effort into cooking was seafood on the grill.

Several Extra large shrimp, bigger the better
Several large scallops
I fillet of fish, preferably Orange Roughy
Saffron, two containers if possible(should be around $10)
Teaspoon of Paprika
Butter
Black Pepper
Shitloads of Garlic.
Wood Skewers

Melt butter in small saucepan. Add Saffron and paprika. Crush garlic into butter and let simmer on very low heat a bit. Clean seafood and place on skewers. Put in small dish such as a casserole dish and coat with butter sauce, using a little over half the sauce. Grill over hot coals, basting as you go. Be sure to put the shrimp on skewers by themselves as they will cook more quickly than the rest.

served here with sauteed miniature squash and portabella mushrooms:

The Heart Attack.
1 hot dog
a few slices of bacon
Melted cheddar cheese/nacho cheese (optional)
Onion and onion ring batter.
1 deep fryer.

Cut a hole in the hot dog, inject cheese(optional). Wrap hot dog in bacon. Then wrap in onion. Dip in onion ring batter. Fry 'till golden-brown. Eat. Clog arteries.

also i came up with something good before on superbowl night

1 jar of hooters sauce
4 chicken breasts
salt pepper

take chicken and chop up all 4 breasts into thin but not too thin slices
so now you have raw chicken strips...throw on flaming hot charcoal grill untill throughlly cooked and tender ....while still on the grill add the hooters sauce but only like 1/4 the jar..this will soak in

chickens done now lay the chicken on a pan and smother the hooters sauce all over the chicken and add some blu cheese and celery sticks.

amen on the fish tacos

here's something else to try on the grill (or in the oven),
if you've got some time and mouths to feed.

prepare a chicken for cooking (trim fat and everything)

rub it with oil, salt, pepper, cumin, lemon...the possibilities are endless. rub some of that stuff under the chicken's skin for better flavor.

pop open a can of beer and insert into chicken's butt.

grill till the insides are ~160 degrees

freakin delicious

mmmm I love the beer steamer. Heres a good marinade I came up with.

Start with some sort of smokey lime marinade, add about 3/4 of a cup of maple syrup. Add about 1/4 cup montreol smoked meat dry rub, and franks red hot to your liking. Rub the chicken with lemon wedges (the acid helps break down connective tissues so that the marinade can soak in faster. Put the chicken and marinade in a big ziploc freezer bag (or your home made vac press bag that you used to make that miniboard last summer) and use a straw to suck all of the air out. Leave it for atleast 6 hours.
